I just installed a Kenwood stereo with a buit in G-Analyzer in my 308GTB with stock 14 inch Michelin XWX tires. How close to 1 G should I be able to reach. Just like an idea before I find out the hard/expensive way.

I would bet about .8 on a level surface. G's can increase on banked turns.

A 308 can pull down over 35 G if it's in great condition.

As indicated above, if you're speaking of lateral g measurement you should be able to get close to .8g on a level and dry surface with decent tires of that profile. Street cars achieving 1.0g are generally diffucult, or at least somewhat uncomfortable, to drive in regular street conditions due to stiff suspensions, low profile tires, etc.

Have a Pioneer AVIC-1 here and acceleration is about 0.5G or so WITHOUT dropping the clutch hard, thereby causing high wear . The remainder of my rating are with a modified car yet using street legal Mich Pilot Sport PS2 rubber on a 80F day at the track with track temps around 95F or so.

NOTE: With proper R-rated rubber i am sure she could do better:

    Braking is 1.2G or so
Side is a tad above 1G

NOTE: The car here is setup low and stiff, i would guess when the car here was pretty much stock and with the tires you mentioned it would be lucky to achieve 0.8G side/side. Pic below is from when i was testing the new brakes after the front Brembo package was installed, but BEFORE i realized the car needed uprated rear pads to grippier Ferodo DS3000, but you get the idea.

Tag me back in July and i could post new pics of everything as i have various track days and July is nice and warm :) (and i may have R-compound on the car by then) Also plan to get a data acquisition unit with dumpable memory for analyzation.
