How many GT4's here?

That's cool. Your car was built right after mine. 10388. Similarly mine was stored for many years (25) before I pulled it out of it's safe resting place last summer. Actually tomorrow is going to be my 1st chance to drive it.

13214 - 77 208 GT4. Series 2 Euro spec. Original color - Gold with Tan carpet, interior ?? now Red paint with Cream Vinyl & Black cloth insert Red piping.
Bought it in the Netherlands. It's now in Bosnia being resurrected.
Any priors would be appreciated.

Really like the look of those wheels with the boxer trim! Are they new to you? How was the buying experience?

I'm trying to decide if I should just order the repro wheels from Superformance, or wait for a set of OEM 16" QV wheels to come on the market...

 

If they're not going to be "right" either way why not go for the cheaper option?

 

My car's a '79...16" QV wheels were a factory option, no? I would be opting for the silver finish on my car, so I could go either way - OEM or aftermarket. I hear you, though...money talks. Really, if I'm not going to show my car, 99.999% of the general public will have no f' idea that the Superformance wheels are not perfectly correct.

I guess I just like the thought of having the OEMs on the car in all their magnesium glory, for whatever that's worth...

 

Don't know if sixteens were optional then but wasn't the QV introduced in 1982?

 

The wheels and tires are new this year. The buying experience from Superperformance was great. Wheels were here in two weeks. Shipping to the US (East Coast) was about 175 Pounds ($262 USD).

 

Hey Mark, I have 10562, 1975 Rosso Rubino (dark red) and boxer paint with tan hides. I've had it for about 5 yrs. I'm in Nahant, MA (North Shore). Great great car. Just ping me if I can give you any more detail, thanks Mark!

Found out today that the bigger wheels and tires were available late in the run but in Europe only. Apparently when ordered you got flared fenders as well.

 

I will-I'll have to pull some pics off my work laptop tomorrow. I'm going with the same color when I finally repaint it-and I'm all about the boxer scheme with the US bumpers

When it comes to old Ferraris I never use the word SURE but it came from model experts of the highest order. I'll see if I can get clarification.

 

On pages 137 & 138 of the 1979 Dino 308GT/4 spare parts catalog they show the flared fenders as part of the (Pirelli) P7 option package.
When I figure out how to copy from the PDF on an iPad I'll post the pages.

Did you figure out in the meantime ? If not ,here's the procedure to create a screen shot.
Open your pdf and go to the page you want to copy.
Push the Home button ( on the front next to your screen ) and on/off switch ( on the side of your Ipad ) simultaneously. You will hear a shutter noise and have just made a screen shot, which you will find in your pictures folder.
