Actually this is one of my drawings of Hartmund Ibing's #3809 as it looked July 2004 when the car was at the European Concours d'Elegance in Düsseldorf, Germany!!! I have several photos taken at that event of this car!!! Best regards Carsten
There is an old joke: 36 GTOs were built by Ferrari and all 40 are still in existence (because of fakes). Seriously, 36 were built and amazingly all 36 have survived. I think 19 GTOs were in the race for GTOs and SWBs at Monterey in August. Probably the most of them ever together at one time. There were never 19 at the factory at once.
Bob, Right -- 5575 is the last GTO. It was also once owned by Carle Conway, who swapped it to Bob Donner for the 412 MI as I recall.
Now that is a good drawing!. Proportions, ride height, etc. are perfect. Too much shading for me (for a pencil drawing) but to be far I would have to see the original, framed on a wall to be able to obtain the full viewing experience. Excellent, absolutely excellent. Pete
And counting ... . One day the production figures will be confirmed with actually how all the cars are now and it will read: 2500 - 62 GTO's 500 - 64 GTO's 2000 - Testa Rossa's 10 - 250 GT 2+2's 5 - 330 America's 10 - 250 Lusso's 2 - 250 PF's Then some collector will get all emotional about PF Coupes and due to confusion convert a genuine 250GTO into a PF Coupe ... Pete
Thanks Pete, It's not a pencil drawing, but done with my usual "tool", a 0.1 mm drawingpen (ink), the mish-mash on the hood, was a try at making the reflection of a beautiful sky! It looks great framed and hanged on a wall Thanks again Best regards Carsten
