There is a lot of discussion about clutch life for F-1 and manual 360/430's. I'll start off with my transmission and mileage and clutch life and wear readings if you have F-1. 2003 360, F-1, 52,000 miles, still using factory clutch, 23% wear (77% remaining) according to Ferrari Diagnostics taken last week.
I sold my 360 with 13k miles on the clutch and 12% wear. I sold my CS with 22k miles and 20% wear. I bought the CS with 4,900 and 11% wear. The clutch will last if you use it correctly...and stay out of traffic.
I have a manual 430, so no diagnostic but with 17K there is no sign of clutch wear. I am easy on clutches anyway. I don't see any point in laying down strips of rubber. Dave
'02 F1 Coupe, 30K miles, 9% clutch wear (91% remaining) measured about 2K miles ago. Great car and fantastic transmission -- would never go back to manual.
great numbers.. especiallly the 52k one! wow! 12k miles on my modena, clutch seems fine 20k miles on gransport, clutch seems fine
I have 40K miles and 5K track miles on my F355 clutch But I have never owned a car where I wore a clutch out even at 150K miles. The trick is never to put power through the clutch when it is in the friction zone--something you cannot teach the F1 computers.
I have a 2006 F430 F1. The dealer at recent service pluged in to check clutch wear @ 15% with 4300 miles on the clock. I drive like an old man well because I am an old man. On my manual Lambo I baby the clutch, skip gears use the dead petal alot. Ither than a magatino swich what else do you do on the F1? Lee
