You never tried to run your car with the intake blocked? Runs really great Should have said non-forced induction.
same with humans, "natural-aspiration" is no longer the default, you have to be designated as a "non-smoker". i'm also non-bald, if anyone was wondering. beautiful cars, sadly i'm also non-NSX.
I love the NSX, like above comments a very well balanced car. heres mine. It is currently getting a lot of interior upgrades before the twin turbo set up go's in.
I have a 95 NSX-T. I absolutely love it (the style, the sound, the open top, the precise turn-in, etc.) It will go up for sale very soon ...building a new house. Next will be a 355....... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great overall car, from grocery getter to a track car. I agree on it being underpowered, until you slap in a well tuned super charger Armand0 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've owned one for 7 years, although I rarely drive it (I have a company car). The NSX really is everything that the guys above stated. Although I am considering a Ferrari in the near future, I do not plan to ever part with my NSX. You really can not go wrong with supplementing your Ferrari garage with any year NSX. NSXPrime is one of the best websites/forums bar none! Lud created, and maintains, an incredible site, and the FAQ's are as extensive for a single car model as you can get.
I had a 1996 NSX-T which was a lovely car. I now have a 2003 NSX Coupe which I'm selling to help finance the 550 I've just bought. If the NSX could carry a bit more luggage I'd be holding on to it and if I could win the lottery I definitely would not sell it. It's a truly terrific car. Beautifully made and more than quick enough in the real world, as well as being extremely comfortable and exclusive. Also my annual service cost £65 including VAT (Sales Tax for the US contingent here). Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bought a 94 white/black interior in 95. It had 1,000 miles on it and now has 89,000. Never had any major work on it. I love my 348 and my 360 spider but non track people (read girls and guys who aren't into cars) love the NSX. Frank Darabont, the director, rented it from me when they filmed "The Green Mile" in Nashville but brought it back the next day because his girl friend couldn't drive a straight shift.
I got an '01 Spa Yellow Pearl T. Had it for a year and a half, and all I've had to do is get new rear tires and oil changed, man am I in for a shock when I get a Ferrari
Used to own GTR33/34, great cars BUT nothing compared to NSX. It is the best Japanese exotic, period. Handling, feel, sounds...a Jap with an Italian soul. Sadly, in KL, we have only auto versions.
I have a 1993 White NSX. I do autox and open track events and I've only had to change the brake rotors, pads and a clutch with everything else being fine after about 15 track events. Now has about 50K on it. Only nit picky issue is the choice of tires I can put on the car, not a lot of options with the stock 16/17" sizes in either max performance or R compound. One of the ways that Honda was able to get great SPecs on this car is that they used ultra soft compound tires. What is not mentioned to a prospective buyer is that these have a 5000 mile life and cost $2000 installed. Forget that though, if you must have the ultimate Honda with a front like a Pantera and a butt ugly aft, then this is the car for you!
Heres a photo I took of some guy in Houston on a fun run in 2003. Poor guy blew a coolant hose way out in the country. Regardless of that, I'm still like NSX's. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Get your facts straight before you put your foot in your mouth. The reason for the short tire life(10,000 to 15,000) miles and only on the rears, is because of the aggressive camber settings from designed for a better handling car. I dont't know where you buy your tires but $2000.00 is not even close, but then again if you are complaining about tire wear the NSX is not for you, maybe a Celica. Armando
You are correct. My neighbor has one & works for Honda. His tires don't last very long (5k miles) because he increased the cambar even more. You are also correct in that tires don't cost $2k.
There was a guy who blew the coolant hose at the track a couple of weeks ago. Nothing serious, but I am going to get mine done before my next track event. I am SOOOO glad to hear all the positive comments about the NSX here. How refreshing. If you have about 45K to spend, you can get an excellent 97 NSX with the 6-speed and 3.2L engine. It is a wonderful car. Or you can go another route: 91-93 NSX with 60K miles for about 30K. Comptech highboost SC, intake, headers, exhaust for $12-15K. Now you have an reliable exoitc daily driver with about 360RWHP. One hell of a nice car. You can also look at the BBSC like MiamieNSX's car. His is very fast and also one of best looking NSX's around.
WHAT!!!! My rears lasted EXACTLY 8,000 miles; ant 7,980 they were almost completly gone so I smoked the he!! out of them. And it was $500 for a set of rears, less for the fronts. Car now has 12,230 miles and still original fronts. And the wear is beacuse of the agressive camber and toe in
I just changed my OEM tires on my car and the cost was less than a $1K installed and I bought the OEM Bridgestones. Oh yeah, they do last anywhere from 15,000 up to 20,000 miles.. Armando's may only last 10,000 miles but we all know why...
Note the non-USA NSXs have Honda badging rather than Acura. I have seen several here in the Atlanta area with the Acura badging replaced with Honda badging.
