    Hi All

Lucky we are to have owned one!

    How many people have?

Production numbers X Say 5 owners? Less for new models more for the early ones?

    Any number crunchers out there?

    Whats your best guess?

    Enjoy yours.

since production figures were fudged, guess you can just fudge the ownership and be done: gazillions.

I am more interested in how many lug nuts were produced.

    Last count? 7

Hasn't been updated in while (1947), probably higher now......

Isn’t it like Patek Philippe advertises?

You never actually own a Patek Phillippe. You merely look after it for the next generation to enjoy.

Lots of cute answers here - but no real estimates.

Ferrari has built about 100,000 cars (yes I know it is a bit more - but this is a rough cut).

Lets say each car on average has had 10 owners - real people - not dealers.

So that makes 1 million Ferrari owners.

    BUT -

an awful lot of those people have had multiple Ferraris. Let's say the average is about 3.

So, lets say that about 400,000 people have owned one.

Since there are about 8 billion people on the planet, that is a rough cut of 1 person in person in 20,000 has owned one.

    Just an engineer's estimate

I think 10 owners per is a high estimate. Remember, a disproportionate number of the cars produced are younger cars.

My guess was about 3 - 4 owners per car. So yea, between 300 - 400K owners. Sounds like quite a few when you look at it that way.

I will add an anal accountants two cents:

If we agree on the 300-400K, but still less than 1 in 20,000 because its 300-400K not out of the 8 billion now, but out of all the people who were alive or have been born since 1947.
