In the small town in Cambridgeshire where I grew up there is a white RHD Countach. I think it's an LP500 but I'm not totally up on the exact model differences. My Car Check shows it as a 1985 model. It's registered EER1. I believe I am right in saying the owner bought it from brand new. It was something, as a car obsessed youth, that was a bit of a local myth and no one had ever seen this thing but everyone knew a guy who knew a guy who had seen it and so on. I saw it out once years later and my memory says it had a rear wing but no straked side skirts. It has to be one of the lowest mileage Countachs in existence.

At the Lambo 50th in Italy, I've seen photos of the black UK RHD Anniversary, gorgeous red LP5000S of Tris Simpson and red Countach QV of Harry Metcalf, as well as the blue 88.5 with the anniversary wheels, but one other RHD Countach was there: B97FGT, which is the third UK RHD Countach QV:

Yes, you are correct. It is still with the original owner and goes to the local garage every year for an MOT. Apparently, there is a picture of it on the wall of the local garage. It is a 1984 white LP5000S with a wing. NO myth, it is definitely the real deal! I am trying to get a photo of it.....

    Robert,something does not match up

this is a similar car than KLA12410 for sale las year.

the car was made around May 88 so it cannot be a KLA but a JLA ?? The sequence number would assume a KLA vin

This is confusing because all KLA non anniversary are made in August. Could you confirm is this is a KLA or JLA vin?

I know of only 1 KLA non anniversary in the UK

that is $227K UDS. Reasonable price for what seems to be a great shape non molested original car with just the right mileage to be a reliable casual driver.

    Hi
Sorry, I dont know whether 12410 and 12414 are JLA or KLA VIN numbers or their date of manufacture. 12410 and 12414 were both registered in the UK on 5th August 1988 if that helps? The cars are very similar: red/cream/no piping and red/cream/red piping respectively.
How does the sequence number assume a KLA VIN - can you explain and I may be able to help?

    Robert,
The letter represents the model year and the spec sheet of that year I would guess. On the countach thread we had a discussion on KLAs.

KLAs are Model Year 89. Fact is many people think all KLAs are all 25th cars. They are not. A few Qvs were made in August and are bearing the KLA (89 model VIN). In all aspect they seem to be of the same specs as the pre-August 88.5 cars. I have 7 well identified KLAs between 12407 to 12424.
The 1st KLA QV could be anything between 12405, 12406 or 12407,which I know to be a KLA. 12424 is the well know last QV.

If you go by the sequence numbers there could be 17 KLA stamped Countach Qvs. But as usual, this is not always that simple with the bulls. Sometimes some cars get a model year out of their sequence number. 12414 logically should be a KLA since it falls right in the known KLA sequence numbers. but it could have been a car made earlier and bearing the marks of JLA (MY88) for whatever reasons. I have not found anyone able to explain why for some cars this anomally occured.

One such anomaly is GLA12871 which should have been an FLA car or HLA12906 which should be a GLA going by the sequence number. There are others.

What bother a bit is that the description of the car says it was supplied to the london dealer in May. How can this be from sequence number 12414 falling right in the August 88 made cars?

Ah. The London dealer is wrong. The first registration date of the car according to the UK Vehicle Registration Department is 3rd August 1988, which means the car will have into the UK before that and is unlikely to have been made in August, so is probably a JLA.

When |I was in Colin Clarkes workshop on friday he had a silver Anni in. Apparently only covered about 150 miles in past 20 years or so! Had a good look around the underneath and it was showroom fresh! Initially I thought it was a no cost spared restoration.

    Wow.

What colour was the interior of the car, was it RHD and was the total mileage 150 or had it just done 150 miles in 20 years?

There was RHD silver anniv I saw many years ago with 312m on the clock, but have never seen it since.

...I suppose you don't know the VIN, the registration or have a photo of it?

    Robert,

Paul knows the interior, whether it was RHD or not, the mileage, the registration, the chassis number and got a complete set of images of it. He simply made the casual post to drive you nuts :)

By the way, have you seen the Viola/Rosso Anniversario in recent years?

    Hi
No the car was on a ramp so i just saw underneath it and the body. It was silver body. Dont know other details other than the reg number, but don't think it is appropriate to post it as it was in a garage and not a public road. I understand it was 150 miles in 20 years.
If the person is on here, possibly he could post the details'

Hah, nice try. If this were true, how would you know?

TBH I've never seen to Lilac/red anniv pictured - inside the back cover of the Chris Bennett book is a picture if it coming off a transporter, there was a picture of it somewhere like on the Lamborghiniregistry, then the picture you reposted here and that's all I have on the car.

A question for you: what if someone had bought a lot of RHD Countachs over many years and had them stored away in secret. Possible?

I was actually there the day it came off the transporter at the West London Service Center. That's Peter Martin backing it out.

I have heard that someone bought a number of RHD Countachs and stored them away. So, yes, not only possible, but very probable.

I was told this by a UK dealer I have known for many years who has always supplied accurate information. Location, the Midlands. But, beyond that, I personally know nothing! I can only ask and see if I get any specifics.

In the USA I personally know 2 seperate people with brand-new delivery miles USA spec LHD 25th Anniversarios, and another who by himself has 2 such cars! I have more interest in these because I actually deal in them.

They are out there if you know where to look.
