I was wondering how many people still own their first Ferrari? As I contemplate buying another Ferrari, I am wondering if I should trade in my 348 spider and use the money towards my next Ferrari?

I think I would regret it at some point.

How many people here have regretted selling their first Ferrari and wished they could get it back?

I'm on my 4th looking for my 5th.

Was it hard to let the first one go? A little. No regrets though. I like what I own today. I would take it back as a second car but not as a replacement for my current ride.

I think it depends on why your trading. If you want better performance, creature comfort, or style -- then make the change.

If you just like owning a Ferrari, then the grass is not always greener and you may stick with what you have.

We don't really own these cars. They just pass through us and into history to the next owner. Hopefully, they will take as good or better care of it than we did.

I don't own the first car I bought and I could care less where it is now. I barely remember what it was. It's probably been ground up it's steel is in a rusting 1974 Olds somewhere. I don't feel very nostalgic towards it either. So, maybe it's just me.

My first Ferrari was a 1988 328 GTS. In the typical red/tan color combo.
Bought it almost 10 years ago and owned it for about 2 years. I do miss it.
I've owned four Ferraris so far and wish I had not traded in the 328 but kept it as an extra one.

Well, I still have mine.... but I've only owned her since March 2008...

I can say with pretty good certainty that I will NEVER sell her however.
Something VERY dramatic would have to occur in my life to make selling the
Ferrari seem like a "gotta do it" thing.

Only 3 years of ownership but I do own 3 other Ferraris at the moment. Wouldn't want to sell my first (a 550), fabulous car. Just love it to bits.

I lost #1, a 1964 330 2+2 puchased in December '02, to an accident in May 2007. If the wreck hadn't happened, would I still have it today? Tough question. The temptation to "upgrade" is always there.

Same experience from time to time with the 308QV...I've found that in Ferrari land, the grass is always greener on the other side.

I'm nearing 61 now and advancing age will be the excuse for a third Ferrari...need to round it out with three owned before I check out.

I bought my first, an '81 308, in '96. Since then I've had 9 other exotics (mostly Ferraris) come and go, but I've always kept the 308 --- still have it and plan on keeping it for at least another 16 years!

Color me sentimental, but that one will always be special --- it was my first, and it has a very special ownership history --- the car is almost like a souvenir / memento for me :)

I wish I did own it still. A superb 1987 black and tan 328 with black wheels. Should have never sold it.

I will buy it back someday. Not sure who has it right now but I will own it again.

This isn't unique to Ferrari. I regret selling two cars that I've owned over the years. There are about 15 others I don't miss at all. I do have a bit of affection for the 348 with the droptop. It is a good looking car and may become special and sought after as one of the few that doesn't have round taillights. The only question is will you still drive it regularly enough to make it worth while.

I think the first one is somewhat special as well. Like all that hard work, dedication, etc. finally paid off. It's kind of like a trophy. I bet I'd regret trading it in. It's a very special car to me.

Same here, except I have you beat by one month. :)

I did have another 308 come and go in the mean time, but still have my first.

    Still own my first...and second Ferraris. ('86 328 GTS and '76 308 GT4)

I also still own "my first car" the one in which I took my driver's test -- '86 Dodge 600ES Turbo Convertible. (Technically it was my dad's, but it was the first car I drove "alone".)

Haven't sold my Ferrari but will do so someday, like all other possessions. Had some other stuff (special non-F cars, classic motorcycles, prized real estate, special art) that I thought I would miss if I sold it. Guess what, do not miss any of it. Sometimes the burden of ownership is greater than the benefit - time to get rid of it. At this point, I would like to get rid of about 80% of the stuff I've acquired (except the Ferrari). Unfortunately, most everything (except really special stuff) will be gone at pennies on the dollar or given away. Oh well...

While not a Ferrari, I still have my very first car. We just celebrated our 35th anniversary together. Wouldn't sell her for all the world. Silly I know, but not even for a Ferrari....

    Now a 360 Spider, I'd only trade it for a 458...

One year countdown is underway.........Amanda turns 18, and I get a 35% pay raise.

Counting the days until I can finally put Moorespeed to work, the paint shops too!

UPS is driving around Houston with my new nose in the truck, I guess it won't fit into the Leasing Office! LOL!

That's the tragic undercurrent, to all my humor.

I comfort myself with the reasoning the only OTHER guy I know with a few identical old Ferraris lives in NY, and does pretty well with them!!!
