ZERO sold new through the dealer network as they never complied with ADR's. All were tourist deliveries of English spec vehicles. A number were delivered at the factory.

I would say maybe 25 here without looking at the register.

There are currently 52 on the 2007 FCA registry. Add to that the few floaters getting around of which I'm aware of 5 or 6 minimum. Wouldn't suprise me to hear totals in the range of 80 cars.

What was the total TR build volume? I recall someone saying it was the highest production Ferrari model until the 360 came along.

Thanks Andrew. The small RHD numbers are a surprise, I guess the US market was dominant and these large volumes will keep values low for some time to come.

'trucks' have the engine where god (and Enzo) intended, I'm not well informed as to heretic FIAT cars. :D

As it happens, I'm picking up my heads this afternoon, the bottom end tomorrow. I have a shiny new engine hoist waiting in my garage, $2000 worth of fasteners, ThreeBond, Hylomar, etc and an 8-day project plan to assemble, install and drive. :)

Just offering a sacrifice to the spirit of washers-not-dropped-inside-the-timing-cover-at-the-last-minute as we speak. :(

I always find that offering up a barrel of KFC works wonders and lighting a candle for departed mechanics helps :)

it'll still end up a 'truck' though :D

I still have a copy of the cheque my Father presented when his car was delivered at the factory. It was 88,000 pounds sterling, which of course does not include Oz taxes. The car was approx. $315k landed with all Australian taxes paid. This was 1989 BTW

I seem to recall $450k back in Australia.

My Father was stopped as he drove out of the factory gates by an English dealer who offered him twice what he had just paid for the car

Just as well he didn't sell it as he got to enjoy the holiday of a lifetime driving that car around Europe. He had a heart attack 2 weeks after he got home, died 2 weeks after that and never saw the car off loaded at the Melbourne docks. It arrived just in time for the funeral.

Sorry for your loss scott, as you said at least he got to enjoy the car rather than getting money which will do nothing for you once you are gone.

I thought you said they werent available in aust? how does the 450k fit in?

All TR's that came here in period were "tourist deliveries" to get around compliance issues at the time. The $450k refers to the market price of the cars once they made it to the country. The 512TR was the first to have official Australian compliance.

Unreal!! Thats why PP and I share the same philosophy...........you only live once. So you GOTTA have fun!! :) You never know what could happen or what is waiting around the corner for you in life. Nice to hear your Dad got to enjoy his new Ferrari, even though the experience was short lived. Why did you not decide to keep that car also? :)

It wasn't mine to keep. It stayed in the family for 8 years and 18,000 miles then it was time to move on. Fantastic memories; but as a car it was certainly flawed.
