I never seen this thread until now and I don't plan to read it all from the beginning. But to answer the question, how many titles would Senna have won?

I think there is a very good chance he wins 4 straight with Williams, 94-97. So 7 would be very possible.

Schumacher likely could have brought the fight to Senna in 94 and for sure in 95, but that Williams was still a rocket. It was fast with Damon Hill driving, and Damon was on average over 9 tenths slower than Senna over the first 3 races in 1994. 1996 and 1997 would have been dominant.

Nobody made a mistake in the old Tamburello.
Senna had a mechanical failure this day.

That's an opinion, not a fact.

Backed up by a great big spark under the car just before it "leaves the track".......

There was a steering column failure, but no proof that it caused the accident, or wasn't provoked by it.

It's simply circumstantial evidence, not proof beyond reasonable doubt.

Oh man… if it doesn’t break the car at least doesn’t go straight into the wall… u may recall in Monaco à race later Damon had the same problem… his was caught on time .
He is gone anyways and we can only be playing what if games

But no one can prove that, and the enquiry exonerated Williams and Head for criminal negligence.

As for Monaco, the race report says that Damon Hill collided with another car, damaged the suspension and drove back to the pits. It doesn't mention steering failure.

If you watch the in-car cam of Senna's accident - lap before especially .... you can see how brutal the cars were - lots of downforce, they were very hard to control at speed. Imola is bumpy.. especially then... so its not hard to see a steering break or loss of control. the issue with the cars in 94 was the loss of computer-aided driving from the year before Active suspension etc... I think its entirely possible that Senna was pushing hard, maybe over the stress limits... and something broke or he lost control over a bump, and could not save it... he was complaining about lack of balance and the back end snapping all the time.

I was never a Senna super fan when he was alive. I respect him, he was very good, and F-1 is the worse off that he's gone - and not gray & tan living in Brazil commenting on current F1. For those that only see the movie - and the hyper-partisan fans ... its hard to have seen Senna for real... tough, yes, great - yes, flawed - definitely.

That there is reason to believe in something other than driver error.
