How many of you don't intend to sell your Fcar. Will you just add more cars to the stable? I plan to add a 355 in the next two years and I never plan on selling it, just adding another one to the stable. I'm not the concours type, so I will probably modify the car to make it more reliable at the sacrifice of originality.

I have sold enough things in life that I wish I had not (like a pristine '85 Rosso QV). I will keep my 308 and only make it a better one.

I waited my entire life to buy this most perfect car of my dreams. Why would I ever sell it? For me it it was a "once in a lifetime" purchase. After all I'm just an artist.

Mondial 8 - probably not, but if so, would be replaced by a 3.2 Coupe (but I'd like to get one of those in addition to keeping the 8).

Not planning on selling either, only adding on to the collection. Its a disease and I have a full blown case of it.

When I got my Porsche 911 Turbo, I thought I would never want any other cars. Then it was replaced w/ Corvette. When I found out 328 was cheaper than brand new Corvette, I thought this cannot be! Ferrari, my dream car!! I thought I would never sell 328 as it'll be classic. Then I found out I cannot keep 328 and own 355 Spyder at the same time.

    Cold fact of life...

I've had my 308QV for 11 years and 25,000 miles... still loving it, and can't imagine getting rid of it by choice.

Here is my crazy opinion. I NEVER want to have to get rid of ANY car I own. Since I am still young, 23, I didn't have the option to keep any of my previous cars.

But if I had it my way, I would never get rid of any of the cars I have owned. I loved my first car for so many reasons. It wasn't fast, it wasn't that rare, and it wasn't expensive...but it was MINE!

I love my second car for many other reasons. I like my 3rd car for many reasons. Each car reminds me of many different things that have happened in my life. It would be nice to still have each one at my disposal. I can see myself having the urge to feel 15 again, so I would grab the keys to my first car and go for a spin!

I think at this point I might never have to get rid of a car after I buy it. And getting rid of an F-car would be totally out of the question.

    Anyone else identify with this?

I can. I enjoyed my M3/4 that I bought when I was about your age. It stickered for about $45k then, a ton of money for me at the time. Now that they are hovering around $15k, I've considered trying to track down another one as a keeper. My S-class was a great car, but I think if I was to get another W140, I'd want a 600, pre '96 car, also as a keeper.

Fact is, there are a lot of great cars that I've been fortunate to own. Space is really the issue for me now and while I do have access to "off site storage", its not the same as having the cars there and ready to enjoy. That and the wife gives me a scornful look every time I say "what about this one...".

I'm not. Ever, period. I have the one I have always wanted and I am keeping her. I may buy and sell others in the future but my first is staying.
