    I note that Ferrari's regular warranty is 3 yrs.
    Seems to me the vast majority of these cars are driven so little that FNA's budget for those repairs must be next to nothing.

    There is a lot of truth to what you say. Many brand new Ferrari owners don't drive their cars because they are afraid that they might depreciate. This is why I would never buy a one-owner car that is out of warranty with very low mileage. Ferraris are not Toyotas.
