    If I have two 12V/17Ah batteries that take 8 hours to charge, are my calculations correct that one charge takes 2*12*17*8/1000 = 3,2 kWh?

    The assumption is that the voltage when you start is zero, but in reality it is probably higher than that unless the battery is newly manufactured. This is offset by the inefficiencies during charging. Heat from internal resistance and irreversible chemical changes contribute to these inefficiencies.
