Guys: Just wondering what's the market price on this car? --------------------------------------------------------------- Year: 2003 Model: 360 Modena Color (Exterior): Yellow Color (Interior): Black Tranmission: 6-Speed Manual Almost 51K miles. Factory Options: Racing Seats (Medium) Scuderia Shields Yellow Brake Calipers All yellow stitchings around with leather upholstered top & rear Front & Rear Challenge Grille Tubi Exhaust ---------------------------------------------------------------- This car is located in S. California. Thanks!
Sounds like a great car, but the miles will kill it. I'd say 55K. 60K tops if it's the exact color combo and racing seats that you really gotta have. Having said that, if properly maintained I wouldn't let the miles scare you off at all. Sounds like my car except mine's a spider with Daytonas.
OK, great first post. Lots of detail and not even a stupid question. Anyway, welcome to the forum. There will be a lot of contention on this one. Lots of opinions and lots from people who can't/won't every buy one so no price is low enough. This will be a good spectators sport for a while. Honestly I don't know. Lots of miles. Good options BUT the options may not appeal to much of the market so it makes the car harder to sell. I would guess it is a low $60's car. Insert caveat about PPI etc.
Be sure to sit in it first. I'm slender build (5'11" and 150#) and the medium factory racing seats in 360s pinch my hips.
Having done alot of research recently in the search for my 360, I believe that if the car has been well maintained and is in good shape that 60 K would be reasonalbe both fron the viewpoint of the seller as well as the buyer. Obviously, a buyer would love to get it in the mid 50's but realistically, I doubt many owners would sell for that unless they were under pressure to get rid of the car fast.
If you are buying and pass, would you mind posting seller's contact info or link to ad? I'm looking for a manual coupe! I'm in So Cal and would be interested in seeing car. Thanks, Jes
keep dreaming!!!! its hard to get $50k for a low mile 355 so one with 50k miles might as well be a paper weight because it will just sit. It amazes me that 355 owner feel like their car is better. Can someone tell me what is this based on. Next 430 owner will be saying their car is better than the 458.
Make sure the exhaust manifolds are looked at really hard... I would not let miles worry you- as long as she is examined bumper to bumper & you have a solid history.. Deduct as needed but as said I would also agree around 60 + or - if a solid car.
Its not exactly that they are better... But some feel that the 355 is a more iconic car. thats the ferrari many of us fell in love with... It is much less buick like than the 360. It is a little harder edged and communicates with the driver more. The fact that they made about 10k. less 355s also helps However, the servicing cost are higher. If i were offered a 10k mile 355 and a 10k mile 360 in the same color blah blah blah... id take the 355 every time
From an icon view, 308 and TR . 355 may be a little more raw but not much. It has power steering and electronic suspension. 355s make good garage queen. 360 has more spacious interior and the ride is more comfortable. Personally, I don't think one is better than the other. They are just different. 360 is cheaper to have a major. 355 owners think their cars are worth more than the market says they are.
One day soon 355's will be going for the same or more than 360's. It's not a measure of what car has the better specs, or which is newer, it's more about the amout produced of each.
If that is the case then the 348 will be more than both. Even lower number produced ... Time will tell but maintenance issue plus engine removal major will keep the prices low. A 360 of this caliper is a great deal(as long as it check out) . Its a car to be driven with little worries
The 355 rescued F from what I understand. It was my favorite car in the world at that time but I would rather have a 360 and now of course, prefer a 430. Times change. The service factor alone would scare me away from a 355. It (355) is still one of the best looking Ferraris of all time. I agree with the others re the OP's queston. Approx 60.
I am in the unique position to comment as I have both a buick and a 360. There is nothing buick-like about the 360. Nothing. OK, they both have 4 tires but that's it. Sorry I couldn't resist. The 360 is still a very involving driver, but is a bigger car than the 355 and the 355 also has some more raw attributes I'm sure. I've actually never driven one but have driven a 348 which I would imagine is more raw than a 355 due to non-power steering and handling that's not as good as a 355. Regarding the original question, there is some great advice on the pricing. While every car needs to be checked throughly, I'd bet there is a better chance that this car is well-maintained than the average 360 out there- it could be a dog, but I just feel the odds are in your favor that it's well-maintaned (still need the PPI of course)
Ha- that's funny! We have a family hauler- the enclave, which actually isn't bad looking for what it is... I don't want to hijack the thread talking about my buick however
LOL you are correct. The 360 is not a buick. But to me it is the buick of the ferraris. It has bulbous, plump features... softer handling and people quoting bigger interiors. It is bigger, but the 355 was not to small by any means. In all honesty, the 360 feels like you are sitting in a room instead of a cockpit. many purchases were because they had to have a ferrari, but not true enthusiast... it was something on the "things to buy when succesful" check list. DMX was rapping on the hood of one in his video "what these *****es want from a *****" that ruined it for me... Most of these cars ended up with all sorts of goofy wheel packages that just drive me nuts. I guess I just don't like the typical buyer or perhaps the persona in which this car attracted originally. I feel with the economic collapse all is returning to the world... I know this rant may sound crazy... but its just my opinion... Its kinda like the reason why most people don't buy vettes... they don't want to be that guy... its a great car... but damn... its hard to shake that image. LOL Again, I really like the car, and its really hard to beat a 360 with the top down and a tubi... I just don't think that the large production numbers as well as the "image" and bastardization of the cars are going to do the cars much help as far as value. As many say the 355 is one of the best looking cars that Ferrari has produced. Its stems across those who were in there 60s when the bought it... to those who are just getting there license now... plus the sound of the engine is probably one of the best most recognizable sounds this side of a carrera GT and F1 car. These are things that cause people to be emotional... and when emotion enters with a more limited production... the prices go UP
I really like those enclaves! Especially in that brown color... i don't know why and I cant believe i am saying it but it looks really good!
I can't believe this is a serious discussion. I have friends that have had 355's and they're nothing but trouble. I don't remember everything but there were issues with headers, valve guides, something cracking in the body behind the side windows. One guy I knew had trouble starting his 355 after washing it. Plus, the engine has to come out for belts. The 360 is so far superior of a car to the 355 that this discussion seems silly.
