Just curious...nothing serious right now, but one day perhaps. The CT is perhaps the only (older) car I could honestly see giving up the majority of my other worldly possessions to obtain. I have a Dino 308GT4 right now, and I love it. I also have a '96 Corvette as a daily driver. Needless to say, sportscars have always been my thing.

As a kid, though, there was only one poster on my wall over my bed - a 25th Anni. Countach in red. I don't think I would actually want a 25th, though...all the "grates" (if you will) were too much for me. The earlier CTs, though, (LP500?) are still the ULTIMATE 80's supercar, IMO.

What's one of these babies run nowadays? I'd probably be looking for one with more than 25k miles, perhaps more, that isn't a basketcase.

    Any ideas?

you can get a very good quality countach for about 80K (not anniversary). But maintenance will be far higher than you 308GT4.

I would imagine so... Fortunately, Al Burtoni's shop (Milano Imports) is less than an hour away, so I would at least have a reputable mech to wrench on the car...it's just finding a car that won't be too "needy" that'll be the trick (if there is such a thing).

Thanks for your response...80k is about what I was guessing, but was prepared for responses anywhere from $70k to $100k. Seventy to eighty is more in line with what I'm thinking. Hopefully, by the time I'm able to pull the trigger on something like this, prices won't have shot skyward.

Mr. Burtoni is certainly reputable and highly competent, but seems to be one of the priciest wrenches in the known universe. Just an observation - he may well be worth every penny.

yes and no...depends on what model you want:

    a driver 5000s fi car is around 80k $

a lp400S is more expensive , S1 even more , take a look at bobileff site and you
could see theyr countach is priced double as a a 512BB...
    http://www.bobileff.com/ferrari_frame.html

a good QV DD is more likely around 130k $ in US

a good Lp 400 is even more expensive

Wow I am impressed as to how that front bumper can hold up to an impact like that! Hardly a scratch!

    :)
