A friend is considering buying and exporting back to Europe a red Ferrari 360 - 2000 year European model (converted to US) with 34,000 miles and recent 30,000 mile service (I dont know yet the details of the service). What would be a reasonable price from the dealer, they are asking 70,000 now.

Depending on history, color, options, maintenance, etc. I'd say $50-70k.

Be sure to figure import duties into the destination country as part of the total cost. And be sure you have an exact figure before shipping. Depending on the country it can add significantly to the cost of the car, and erase any cost advantage of buying in the U.S.

A red '00 360 Modena F1 with 34k miles would go on this side of the pond for €60-65k.
That is $85-90k in your money.
If he would buy it for $70k and export it back to Europe he should expect at least around another 20% on import tax. On top of that some countries will also charge a registration tax.

So he might as well leave it for what it is and buy one on this side of the world.
