Is $2,000.00 a decent price for a new tubi for a 348? I was second highest bidder on a tubi. The high bidder recounted on his bid, so the seller emailed me for a second chance bid @ $2,000.00. He'll pay shipping charges. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7987288663&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
Please watch out for the second chance bids, i had someone trying to rip me of with the carbon fiber sills last week using second chance. He also told me that the original buyer was not buying it. So i contacted the original winner who said that he had already had sent of the check but was canceling it becourse there was another person like my self that was offerd the same set of sills, who also contacted him. Also a few days ago on f.chat another thread about some one else warning about second chance items. Also there were concerns about that same system you were bidding on, becourse there were no pics of the Tubi system, just a box on the shelf. All i see is a box, what do you see? Anyone who is trying to sell a two grand part should want to sell the item by showing were the 2K is going to. Email the original winner and talk to him first. Be carefull.
I talked to this guy on the phone last Wed. I offered $2000.00 but needed pics.first. He did not want to open the (sealed) box. He wanted $3100.00 I can get it from a dealer @ that price.
He wouldn't open the box? That sounds a little suspicious to me. Do you know if it's the complete exhaust system w/o cats or test pipes of course?
I tried a number of times to get pictures from him and he wouldn't do it. I would also look at the bid history. The same person kept bumping up the price by $100 each time. Looks pretty skeptical to me.
I emailed this guy and told him I had to have some pictures of the exhaust, and here's what he responded with: "I am sorry but I am not able to make more pictures since the package is already done and it is located at my local UPS ready to be delivered and I can t reopen the package and loose the warranty and the shipping costs that I have already paid till now .. so please try to understand my situation and also I must let you know that you can see some pictures on the auction from eBay who`s ended... anyway, you have 5 days after you receive the package to see the authenticity of the goods and if you are not satisfied about this feel free and return the package to me on my costs ... now can you please email me the details that I`ve asked you in order to start this transaction through eBay? thanks and I`ll be waiting for your reply." What a crock!
..........and the saga continues. He relisted it before I got the above email!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7989246668&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_ReBay_Pr2_PcY_BID
Check this out. He couldn't sell these rims for $1500 so he relisted them at $2,999. They also gained 10% more tread since he first listed them. The e-mail that I finally got back from this person (jacqueline BUEHNER [[email protected]]) seems to be a woman. I don't know too many men named jacqueline. This is also the picture I got when I asked for a picture of the exhaust. He had a set of 348 rims I was interested in that sold for $800. I hope whoever won the auction didn't get screwed. Does e-bay have some complaint department we can forward this crap to? This guy is a pile of *#@! Image Unavailable, Please Login
More email from seller: My email to him: "Sorry, won't do it till I see some proof of the exhaust in the box." Reply: "I can contact UPS to confirm you that the item is in theyr custody if you want. Tell me what do you want to do" In their custody??
Yeah, it is customary for UPS to quarantine all items to be shipped PRIOR to receiving a ship to address. It is out back. Then all you have to do is tell them where to send it, the guy goes out back and finds the box from the quarantine yard, and it gets sent out. You pay a guessed fee for where it will ship to then you settle up with UPS after you give them the real address. It is all very customary . And if you aren't happy, just send me back my box with the rock in it (oops, I wasn't supposed to tell you that). Ebay is of no help. I got ripped for over $5k on a watch that was Guaranteed...If the drug addict that was 'selling' it actually had one to sell.... Not that I'm bitter, or have any doubt about the honesty from what I've read here.... If you buy from this fool, consider yourself warned. BT
do not buy a tubbi in a box without having a photo of it ! it could be damaged due to handling. Look here the price is better and it is new ! http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4571003494&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
Well, if I could read French, and know how much they were, and how long the auction is, and if they're new, and they fit a 348, I might get one.
