How much would you pay for an injected Boxer with 20K miles in need of a 30K major service? Car appears to be in excellent condition, however, it is white (all white, no black Boxer trim).

Also, would you repaint this car or leave it white which is the original color? I am thinking the car would look great painted black.

I like to keep things original. I would not repaint the car. I would offer in the mid-hi 50's for the car. You need to budget approx 10K, for a major engine out belt service.

I presume a white car is worth less money. It will probably cost between 10/15K to repaint the car. It will have to be disassembled. That will put you way over the top. Bizarre factory colors do not bother me. You are looking at alot of money, if you want to perform a major service and repaint the car.

If it is truly in EXCELLENT condition (i.e. not been sitting for 5 years, leather not dried out, has books & tools, EPA & DOT, runs and drives well, everything works) then I would agree with Ralph-- high 50s, maybe even low 60s.

If it is in good or average condition, I would say $50k tops.

And, I would leave it white, but that's just me. If you don't like the color, I would find one in a color you do like. Or, if you could get this one for mid-$40s then maybe a color change would be feasible.

I'd take the ~$10K off in the price negotiation as a Buyer, but, if it looks this good in person, I'd say it might be unusual but not unattractive:

I would leave the color as is i think it looks outstanding in the all white.....I would try to stay around $60,000 since it needs the 30,000 mi. I currently have a white 328 for sale which i think looks absoluty beautiful, but it is priced less and priced to sell than a comparable red car.

i believe it would be a steal at 60 K. If you dont like white, stay way from the car.. and get a black one. It is my understanding that Boxers in excellent condition are commanding upwards of 70K. An engine out 30 K service will be 10-12K. I wouldnt hesitate to give 50-60 K for it as is.

Hi. A.J. Foyt's former car just sold for 50K flat. The 2nd owners widow, had another offer from a N.Y. broker for 45K. The car is here in Houston. It is a beautiful silver/black with solid bordeaux. However the car sat inside for years.

It needs a complete major service and the unknown. The car is a driver as-is. If a person puts 15K mechanically into the car, it is still a 60K car with the interior the way it is. The beautiful interior is dried out. I am sure they would sell the car pretty close to what they paid. In this case, it would make no sense to completly restore the car. - It would take more than 25K, to bring the car up to the top 10% of Boxers on the road.

i agree with the carreaper. 50K? i have the cash ready right this second. Even 60K...ready to go. Boxers are in the 75-90 range these days and will soon escalate when Daytonas get out of reach with their escalating prices and Boxers will appear to be the real bargains they are...just my humble opinion. If you want to you can get the white boxer's owner in touch with me and I will make him an offer.

Isn't that the one you just told me about and it sold already? I guess I didn't realize it was actively for sale vs. just in Ferda's shop.

I understood that basically "everything" in the shop was forsale. - Sean. Go look at the car. Perhaps you think it is a good project ? They paid 50K for the car.

It needs a complete major service, and the unknown

The interior is dried out - I suppose this can be changed out down the road ?

    The paint is acceptable

The car was stored for years inside (it was not run)

When it comes to Ferrari, I'd keep it as original as possible. If the paint is fading and starting to look ugly, get it repainted, yes...but in its original color or a Ferrari OEM color for that year. I would suggest offering a price in the mid-$50k range, maybe a bit higher depending on how good of condition the car is in. The major engine-out belt service will cost about $10k, so keep that in mind when going for it.

$50K for a Boxer? Buy it. If you don't please tell me, I will buy it. Even mediocre cars I have seen are trading for over $70K.

In Post # 10, I mentioned that the shop/dealer paid 50K for the car.

That is what they have in the car. I never said anywhere the car was forsale for 50K.
