having an argument with a friend who claims he could buy a running enzo motor for under 12K.. is this possible? thanks (i no finding a working enzo motor is almost impossible but what would a price tag be?)
I have priced Italian engines more than I wanted to. I would guess over $150k for the bottom half, $250k for it to be "running."
Please tell your friend to lay off the crack pipe for at least a week or so!! Napolis would be your best bet at answering this question. No promises though. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No idea..........assuming you can get your hands on one, I would not imagine it to be less than US$150k-200k.
Wouldn't a loose Enzo engine require that somewhere there's an engineless Enzo? I don't think you can order a crate motor from Ferrari.
I'd rather take the $12,000 and buy the 1963 Corvette that I've heard about. One winter, the old man who owned the car had a heart attack while driving it. It ran off the road into a snowbank and nobody found it because it was buried for weeks. When the weather warmed up, the snow thawed out and well,....the old man started to ripen up. They found the car and it has been sitting in the widow's garage for years,....but no matter how much you scrub the interior, you still can't get the smell out so they are only asking $12,000 for the car. I'll do so phone calling and find out exactly where the car is this week.............................
Actually I saw a program on the discovery channel about the Enzo when it was first launched. They claimed that the Enzo's engine alone was worth 200k. Thats what it would cost if an owner failed to follow oil change recommendations & the engine was damaged because of owner negligence..
in line with Enzo's famous comment "you are buying the engine - the car is free" (or words to that effect ) I imagine a working Enzo engine would be >$1M!!!
