Another abysmal qualifying in a downright terrible season from Gasly. I don't think anyone expects him to beat Verstappen or even be within a few tenths of him, but I think throw a rock in the paddock and so long you miss Stroll and Gasly you'll find a faster driver!

Will he finish this season at Red Bull? I have my doubts. I said months ago I'd be surprised if he'll be around after the French GP. Maybe a bit close for that but will he be around after the summer break?

Who will he be replaced by? Either of the STR boys? Or will they get Hulkenberg? If they can manage it take Hulk....he's been complaining and negative a bit towards Renault recently, perhaps a deal is already done....

5 times in the points , 2 fastest laps and actually 6th in the championship.
Not too bad for his first year at Red Bull.
You cannot expect him to emulate Verstappen straight away.

Points? Are you kidding? It's the 3rd best car of the field, points are very much expected! His performance is piss poor. Nowhere did I say he should match let alone beat Max. But a reasonable performance should be done. He's no longer a rookie.

His legitimate place is 6th(behind the 2 Mercs, the 2 Ferraris and Verstappen), and that's where he is !!
He had 2 x 6th places, and one 5th place in GPs, but has also finished 11th once, 8th twice.
Not an outstanding performance, but nothing to be ashamed of for his first year at Red Bull.
    Hopefully he will improve.
The Red Bull is not so good this year; Verstappen is never in the hunt like he was in the past.

The old Red Bull would have kicked him out after the second race. He's slow and has shown zero signs of improvement.

What is it with teams holding on to these boat anchors for so long?

Vettel at Ferrari, Romain at Haas. Gasly at RBR.

Ferrari should be thankful RBR only has one driver this year, otherwise RB would be #2 in the WCC.

I can see an assessment done during summer break on his status.

Max leaving will be very bad for Red Bull and ultimately F1 if RBR leaves...no one to replace him with (I guess albon).

If Vettel where to leave at the end of the year I can see it happen.

Lots of Dutch fans a tough pill to swallow, they tend to have an unexplained hatred towards Ferrari...

I don't think they will mind if Max is winning again.

Well going by Ferrari current performance that's a big IF.

True that. I'd love to have him at Ferrari. Especially considering Ferrari likely to be 2nd best team (at best) next year, at least it won't be a procession with him leading everything and win by a country mile...he'll have to do some fighting at least!

Obviously I'm biased to have Ricci there but I don't mind Max :)

Either/or for me, big fan of both..... I would think that Max will get that extra bit out of the car that's needed now that no other current driver can. If Ferrari where to build an equal of Merc Ric would win it (with Max stuck trundling about in the Red Bull).

Gasly is a good driver but is not performing well. I believe he deserves another year. RBR burned the careers of many good drivers in the past: Vergne, Buemi, etc. and it wouldn't be fair to do it again with a young talent.

No idea why, but from what I read and speak to people few are Ferrari fans. They can't stand them. Got worse when Verstappen got to the scene....

Ok then, time to update this thread.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if in the next week a certain French driver will not be in the Red Bull car any longe.r

    Hatred towards Ferrari ?

Just one of the many posts in which you seem to want to denigrate the Dutch or being Dutch.

Maybe you have some sort of trauma thanks to or towards the Dutch. I do not know. But it's a bit weird.

What I do know is that the Netherlands it's one the best places to live on this planet, ranked among the top 5 in any list imaginable (apart from natural beauty).

And by the way home of Ferrari NV these days.

Gasly who? Is he a racing driver? Can’t say I’ve noticed.
