So my €65k estimate was pretty close! New you have an almost new car for €98k, not bad at all in today's market IMHO.

    Cheers!

42 k with 22% tax included. Price is 34,5 k Euro + VAT 22%. Please forget to have the same price (I think it's a very good price). Then tires (1.5 k), Interiors (3.5 k), tools (all, 2 k), passing lights, a manual and so on

    Ciao

    Edit:
fortunately this car was already restored very well in the body, otherwise you should add other 20 k for the full body restore (or 30 k with a bare metal work).
So an excellent and complete fulll restore of a 3X8 starts from 70 K euro here in Italy, but more likely is 100 k euro.

I seriously underestimated all of it when I voted.

I am certain this will be the finest 208 in the world.

just seats, tunnel and the cream part of the door panels (I kept the OEM black parts).

As I said, I found good shops with good prices too, otherwise the car would have costed 120+ k euro

    ciao

Thank you very much, but unfortunately it won't: a time capsule 2000 km one would be much better than mine.

And I know there is one like that here in Italy, but not for sale.

Albert - was this at Modena Classic Works? The picture of the nuts and bolts being galvanized is very similar to the one they took of my 208 GT4 which they did a load of work on in June!

Considering the $20k euro discount on labor I was pretty close.

Either way, I know how you feel because mine was more than I expected but worth it to bring the car back to the condition it deserves.

I'm really glad you have such an amazing car to drive and use for events. I can't wait until the next time I visit and see it in person.

For a 1976 365gt4 2+2. Two years. Just got the car back in July. I used a small shop(3 people) they farmed out the interior and paint the car came with no rust. A few things missing or wrong parts. I had to have extra work done to finish up. They did no electrical. That added two months. Finding all the correct little stuff. Six more months. Installing those. Two more months. Ok I am in Lexington Kentucky. Shop in Alliston can. 1,2oo miles north. Cost, final total. $110,000. Add $25,000 for electrical. And ten for bits. Now comes the surprise. Great shop. Very nice on the phone. Quick to return calls. BUT the car was putting out a lot of black exhaust. I drove it 1,000 seemed perfect. Took it to a local shop. A good shop that does sports racing cars only. And after a month they agreed to look. Instant little problems. But enough to really worry about. So. Calling around I located a Ferrari only shop in Indiana. Only worked on pre electronic. A week later I had my answer. I got screwed big time. I will not go into all but there was a very long list. So. Another $25,000 old man found out he had cancer. Sad. So two months turned into eight. Son took over but he like horses more so this went on the back list. Non of this got plated. Some paint. First round. Second shop. Just fixed. I have the car. BUT now I am in a hospital with cancer and other issues will never get out. Add 37 more cars and a new two million dollar garsge and you can understand what I will miss. I am 78. Was very active. Life was great. Now for the next experience.

Hi Mitchell, I'm very sad after reading your last two lines. What to say? I Hope some miracle will happen. I met Enzo Ferrari in 1987, one year before he died: he already had big health problems. But he didn't look to be very sad knowing his life was at the end: his body was no more sound like years before but he still acted like a king (like it was...) of the F1 race car world and looked to be saying "I will do my job and will take decisions, will rule and will plan my firm activities, goals and projects until the very last day".
In few words: he never gave up!

Maybe it could be helpful to follow his example, even if we aren't all Enzo Ferrari, that was a very strong and exceptional man: it's not easy, I know.

Maybe you could start a car restore or start to find a new car: keeping the mind busy with pleasant things can help a lot.

Well, as to think and write about sad things doesn't help at all, why don't we talk a bit about cars? do you like the 208 turbo model? did you ever hear about that model or is that all new for you?
Here below my 208 turbo 46823 with 0288 engine, BEFORE starting the restore (pictures come from the selling ad of the former owner)

    ciao

    Edit
You are not the only one to have been involved in endless and money eater big car restore. My Countach restore was even worse... ;)

And people still are looking for 308's and GT4's at 40k and expecting something that only needs a few grand and their own sweat equity...
