A year's worth of salary for somebody who will try harder then Kimi? Sounds worth it.

That will never happen. I am with the Russian dude, if Kimi continues to disappoint, and Alonso is not happy at McLaren, buy him.

Perhaps, but did anyone think that Prost would have switched to Ferrari that fast?

I still think it would be a good switch to put Kimi back at McLaren and bring Alonso to Ferrari. It will probably never happen, but here is for hoping.

Agreed. Its not a matter of could Alonso be enticed to go to Ferrari, Todt and Montezemelo do not like Alonso. He is arrogant and does not fit. At least Kimi's personality is non-denominational.

I can not imagine the day that Ron Dennis would release Hamilton to go to the team he hates, I mean hates the most: Ferrari.

All of this talk is silly, Raikkonen is not going anywhere. The theory is that the car sucks for now and Kimi is doing his best.

My guess is this will happen. Reading between the lines on that most recent Alonso interview, I think this is currently and quietly being floated around. I'm sure a deal can be worked out especially as FA increasingly becomes second fiddle and KR flounders.

That's hardly the theory. Most peoples' theory is that Kimi is not putting in the effort to develop the car and his lacklustre performance until now seems to support that theory. He may not be whining but he has appeared to throw in the towel until Ferrari give him a competitive car. The problem is that he has to help Ferrari give him the competitive car (insert Tom Cruise "Help me help you" image here) but he does not have the work ethic to do it.

And what basis does everyone else have for their theories? Why can't the car just be slightly inferior to the McLaren (Which it is anyways)? In 2005, all we heard was how old Schumacher was getting and yadda yadda, when really it was his damn car all along.

The bottom line is, Raikkonen is one of the two fastest drivers on the grid, and if he's driving like **** (which he is), then there's probably something up with the design of the car, which is ultra-radical as it is.

IF (and I'm not discounting Alonso's ability to counter Hamilton's success thus far) Hamilton continues on his present track and either wins the driver's championship or betters Alonso consistently throughout the year he will undoubtedly be placed in the position as the lead driver and the team will undoubtedly revolve around him next year. With that being the case I can see Alonso becoming disgruntled and wanting to move to another top tier team to assume the role of a (clear) lead driver. Personally, I would love to see Alonso in a Ferrari. Despite last weekend's performance I still think he is one of the most talented and consistent driver's in F1 today. Kimi on the other hand is not proving to be the driver we were all hoping he would be. The car might be partially to blame but I also think Kimi's style has something to do with it.

I believe the reason that the Ferrari is inferior to the McLaren is that Kimi and Massa do not have the technical skill to help develop the car, AND if Kimi has it, he most certainly is not making an effort. As for 2005, I think MS gave it his all every day (although I still despise him) and it came down to a number of variables but largely it was the tires. Kimi started off well early in the season while everyone was more or less on equal footing and the car appeared fast and reliable, but Ferrari have not developed the car as well as McLaren over the same time, and I think that is largely due to their drivers, especially that fifty million dollar stiff that they hired from McLaren.

Personally, I would forget both Kimi and Alonso. Heidfeld is the driver that should be picked. His contract runs out end of this year and the guy is doing pheonominal job. He is a team player, very technical and hard working. The other would be Nico if Williams lets him go.
