Hi everyone! Just got a call from my dealer that 458 is on order, expected delivery is Sept/Oct. Starting to think how and when to sell my beloved F430. I got this car with 800 miles back in 2008 from Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale. Car has now 2400 miles and paint is 100% flawless with no stories and 0 track time. Always serviced at Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, last time on May 13, 2010. Its F1 with a lot of options, including CCB's. It has factory scuderia wheels with titanium wheel bolts and pirelli rosso tires. I got them 6 months ago and put maybe 500 miles on them since. Also, genuine scuderia carbon fiber side mirrors, as well as genuine carbon fiber steering wheel and aftermarket carbon fiber shift paddles. Aftermarket carbon fiber door sills and triangle carbon fiber speaker covers. Aftermarket carbon fiber air box cover, front splitter, rear diffuser and carbon fiber side vents for engine bonnet. Aftermarket JVC head unit with nav, i-pod and sirius installed. Only headunit was replaced, with everything else is stock. If buyer would want to go back to the stock head unit, it would be very simple job. No mods were done to the engine or exhaust. Only exhaust tips were taken off and powder coated matte black. Dont wont to trade it in with a dealer for wholesale price. Any input will be greatly appreciated! Car is fantastic . as far as a guesstimate Based on what I see from guys I know Id put it at 155 plus or minus a few bananas. Heres just one example by me http://cnc-motors.ebizautos.com/detail-2006-ferrari-f430-used-5741671.html.. All the best with the new 458.
If you want to SELL it, then you will have to venture down to $130-140k range. You can ASK $150 all day and it may sell next week or 8 months from now. There are '07 spiders in the $170k asking range. Point is market is saturated and few buyers. You have a nice car with nice options, good luck.
You should fetch 145-150 pretty easy. You have the "right" car! Good luck with your sale and your new Baby!
Nothing is moving right now. I'd say list it at 145, sell at 135-140 for quick sale. list at 150 and don't budge if you want to keep enjoying it and never sell it, especially with winter around the corner and more 458s hitting the states.
the real question is.. with depreciation so extreme.. maybe keep it and enjoy both? then again I guess the 458 is too similar to the 430 to warrant that?
458 is a big improvement over the 430, and like you mention... to similar... he would likely never drive the 430 again if he got the 458
What does tonights Top Gear has to do with 06' 430. Like everbody is going to run next day and get 458 which will cost them twice as much.
I would agree with the $135-140k private party number. Don't forget to consider the potential tax savings when using the car as a trade on the 458, you may be holding out for extra money on the sale and giving it up in taxes...
LOL,Correct...Hes talking like you should just go crush your 430...I think a prior poster is correct in saying it does depend on how long you can hold it to get a fair price though..Iam debating right now on wheather to spend an extra 20-30K to get a 458 over a scud...I know I dont have the ability to get 80% of what these cars can do and you really dont want to do it on public roads anyway.. Your car is beautiful, low miles and set up very nicely;try to hold out for a fair price..One of the reasons the market is so down on these cars is that owners are letting them go for a song...but I guess unlike me they have the extra cash to do it..GLWS
Really clean looking car with some nice mods. I think you'll be surprised at who may be looking for a ride with your look. Good luck with the sale
i hear what you are saying... but on a very small scale... perception of value will likely change... although what percent of top gear viewers are willing, able, looking to buy...
We all know that 458 is big step ahead from F430. But used 430 customer is not going to change his mind, because of Top Gear. 458 price is simply different league and plus some need to wait to place an order, even with this economy. Maybe 16m customer will opt for 458. I know if I was in market for used 430, I will look for the most near perfect car as possible. Miles, paint condition, service history and options all play a factor. If you go to a dealer, 05' F430 will cost you 130-135 with 5000 miles or more. 06' probably $145-150 and 07' $160-165. Now very few cars within those production years have CCB's, which in my opinion are big plus for that car, both for looks and mechanically. With my car you get it all for $155K!
Pointless comment! I watched Top Gear and yes 458 took 430 in drag race, so what! Base price of 458 is 230K and 430 was $185k. I think. Ferrari would be have been embarassed if 430 would have been right next to 458. If you want to talk speed, then Porsche 997.2 Turbo S will dance circles around 458 (0-60 2.7 sec vs. 3.4) Drag race doesn't play a roll in ferrari purchase.
Please . There is nothing that is like a forest fire for the 430. Its already established as a motherf*******cker. It been tried tested and approved all over the world. Im always amazed at how many panic driven owners are out there. 458 buyer is NOT a current 430 buyer Different strata .
Now... $130k Next February, during winter doldrums and with more 458s here... $115k Too bad it's not a 6spd, my home is in FL also, and I'd make you an offer on it if it wasn't an F1!
Its like 4 secs faster in the lap also. When the next model is significantly better the demand will be greater for it. Its a HUGE leap. 2002 E55 vs a 2003 E55 where there is a HUGE difference in the cars and the used market price shows the HUGE difference. NO one wants a 02 and therefore dirt cost more than the 02. Yeah "pointless...................."
