Hadn't taken the 308 to Cars & Coffee for a few weeks so I took it out and went yesterday. Didn't expect to see this when I parked and was wiping down he windshield..........a 10" crack arcing around the rear view mirror.
Called Haggerty when I got home and will finish up the claim on Monday.
I had some delamination going on down on the lower driver side but it never bothered me. The lower corner still has the emissions information so I'm going to try and remove it and reapply it unless I can get a replacement. Never looked for one.

Oh man, that's a bummer...actually, no. That's right up there with "snapped timing belt" in my nightmare department. Not sure what the replacement windshield market is like, but I'll be keeping an eye on this thread because Hagerty is my insurance co., as well, and I'm interested to see how they handle this.

    Best of luck...

    Sorry to read this.

I think there are remanufactured windshields for sale from the usual vendors for around $1k-2k.

BTW, I don't see your rear view mirror in the picture. Was it removed cuz of the crack or did I miss it?

I'm not really sure Mike. I avoided all of the speed bumps going in so I'm not sure where I would have flexed the chassis that bad. I wasn't driving it hard at all.

The mirror is what looks like a line of light in the photo. Sorry I can't edit the image on my cheap tablet.

Lotsa range in the prices. 1200 to 1800 seems to be the price. Not sure if I'm going to have to get new trim after looking at the parts diagram.

Wow ! Thanks for all of the help and sources. I'm supposed to get a call from the claims adjuster today. They asked me while I was on the phone Saturday if I had an installer as I would get to pick the guy of my choice. I hope it goes smooth.

Just got off the phone with Brian at Hagerty. Called very promptly...he was waiting for me to wake up on the west coast. My comprehensive covers it with no deductible. He offered me several. Choices about how we could handle it. I'm going to source the windshield and arrange for its install. If its through a shop they will allow the shop to invoice them or if I pay for it they will reimburse me.
They just want it to be a good experience for me with as little hassle as possible. I told Brian that there were many that guys watching this thread to see how it was handled. He liked that.
He asked if I could take a few pictures of the manufacturer, Sigla and send to them. Try getting a very faint image to show up on a camera......lotsa fun that was.

contrasting paper behind the glass is the easiest way to get an image. No flash with light shining from an angle can usually bring it out.

New windshield went in the car yesterday at Ferrari of Newport Beach. Windshield was ordered four weeks ago through the factory and as you can see they were able to supply a Sigla windshield. They brought in an hour experienced installer and installation went fairly well. Some of the paint from my cheap respray peeled up on the cowl edge so I'll have to repair that. Let the car spend the night at their service center to let the adhesive setup properly plus it got to hang out with its nieces and nephews. I don't think that they get to many older cars in for work given the vast pool of independent talent we have here in SoCal.
So overall very pleased with the level of service from Hagerty and Ferrari NB to get me a new windshield. You just can't push the timeline if you want OEM.

    Hi David,
Glad everything worked out with your windshield.
After reading the thread by pgarossino from 2010, I was worried that you would have to go through the same nightmare that he did. Good to hear you did not.

A few questions if you don't mind. Did you see the installation process, was it difficult? Did the glass fit well or did it require some bending and tweaking? Were you able to reuse the trim around the glass?

    Thanks for any info,

    Jim

I was originally going to manage the project on my own to make sure it was done to my satisfaction however upon reading the entire 2010 thread at the urging of Mark I decided otherwise. With the support of Hagerty I ordered the windshield through Newport Beach Ferrari. My thoughts were that they would be responsible for the glass required for my car if I also arranged to have them install it when it arrived. I also wanted to have the OEM glass and not aftermarket. The glass arrived and as you can see it was Sigla and they arranged to have their installer come in and install the glass. Their main concern was being able to save the trim as it is near impossible to get. The installer was able to remove it without bending it. The rest went well and the Service Manager kept me informed of all progress. He even took pictures and sent them to me during the day. I could not be more pleased on how it went except for the four weeks to get the glass from the factory.
