So....if I was looking to get a 355 in the near future around the Tri-State area (DC,VA,MD), would anybody be so kind to come along with me to make sure I get a 355 w/ good service and all?

    :)

I'm only new to the 355 Owners clique for 3 months now, but I've had a 308 for almost 10 years. I'd be happy to help. I'm in NNJ.
I'd strongly recommend a PPI from a certified shop.
    Compression test, visual inspection, etc.

If I wasn't 3000 miles away I would help out. I believe most the 355 guys on Fchat love 355's in general and would jump at the opportunity to check out potential buys with a fellow enthusiest.

It sure is....I'm not looking anytime soon; maybe 1-2 years from now but that's just speculation. I'm doing research first, then we'll see if I find the right one. I wanna buy it cash, so that could take a little while too.

Thanks for the input; at least I know if I needed someone that there are people that will help!

I'm just curious... In your profile, you list a 355 as a car you own. Whats the deal there?

I'm in north jersey and would be happy to help if you find one somewhat close. Have fun with your search and make sure you do your homework first. Headers, cats, sticky plastics, recent service, etc. Good luck!

Nothing, that's not my car. I did that 3 years ago, must've been playing around.

Just some friendly advice FWIW - What separates a "good" 355 from one that will have you posting horror stories on here is generally a combination of the previous owners driving the car on a regular basis AND meticulously performing regular maintenance as well as proactively addressing minor issues before they become major issues. I would not limit yourself geographically and would use this forum as well as leveraging other sources like regional Ferrari clubs and registries. Usually (not always but usually) the better ones are either known about within the community or traded in to a dealership for a newer/different model whereas the dealership has history on the car.

Take your time and don't be afraid to spend some $$ on plane fare to check out cars that might be out of your immediate area. There are good transport companies out there as well.

I live in Colorado and have a good relationship with Ferrari of Denver and Scuderia Rampante - happy to keep my eyes/ears open for you and would be happy to check out any car that interests you. Also spend a lot of time in Fort Lauderdale and have good relationship with FMFL folks. Let me know if I can help.

Good luck - the search is half the fun!

    Cheers :)

I'm not limiting it only to my area....but just in case I see something I like. I want something very specific, and if I can't find that, I'll just wait.
