This was filmed in Japan way back in 1992. The driver was a dealer who then sold copies of the video. He was eventually arrested.

No, even in the un-restricted speed zones you can't pass on the right, especially like that.

Speed-wise it would be legal in de-restricted zones...but certainly not overtaking from the right like that!

Edit- I didn't realize it was in Japan. In that case overtaking from the right is correct. In any case, it's needless to say that overtaking like that with such speed differences between cars is extremely dangerous. All it takes is for some idiot to change lanes without checking the mirrors...

I think it just shows how many left lane trolls there are driving out there... Half the vehicles passed were trucks... (Maybe there was a far left lane but I didn't see it..)

Old video, but still "cool". Amazing how stable that car is at 200 mph....

You should post the Ken Block videos too. No one has seen those.

Cool to be able to do that, not sure it was the safest, but I agree with SSNISTR in that its amazing how stable the car is at those speeds.

    more from the japanese:
Mazda RX7 doing 300+ during the day (check the supra passing him at 0.55):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uDubRFmwTk

Nissan doing 300+ at night over the rainbow bridge...check out the speed difference when he passes the truck!

Signal auto R34 GTR, short explanation about the car, then a quick blast to 300km/h during the day.

I don't want to hear any of the 'rice' stuff...All these cars are incredibly quick* and will put almost all cars here to...I was going to say shame but there is nothing shameful about any car that can do 300+. Besides, the Japanese honor Ferrari's etc greatly:).

*top speed and on the track (the ones with corners).
