As a spin-off from the 348 thread, how often do you see 355's on the road? I'm not talking about car meets/gatherings/group drives or even parking garages/structures but actual sighting of other people's 355 on public roads. Come to think of it, since the car's intro in the states I've only encountered 355's on the road about five times (if my memory serves me correctly). That is an average of less than one time every 2-3 years! (edit: got my math wrong...how typical of me) Is this normal?? or I should get out more? What's your guys take on this?
I have seen 1 (other than mine) since I have bought mine. Before that it was at willow springs track about ten years ago..... it was the one that inspired me to buy mine!!!! All three where/are spiders!!
Funny you should bring that up. I live in a Ferrari-rich area (Bay Area, CA) yet F355 sightings are rare. 360 Modenas and Spiders are a much more common sight than F355's. How odd.
haha, everyone asks me if I live in CT I should see Fcars all over! I'm in the average part of CT (Bristol), all the Ferrari's are down in Greenwich. Just read that town alone has 94 registered...
Funny this thread just popped up as I finally saw a 355 spider yesterday! Being around southern California you would think it would be more common but I see 360's practically everyday and this was my first 355 sighting in a lonnnng time.
I see a few every month during our monthly FCA meets. But see more 360s and 430s in normal street sightings.
I see some almost daily, but have probably only seen about 10 different ones. Generally spot people that drive them often. IMO, they're still a rare sight, and an impressive one.
i've seen 2 in past 3 yrs...excluding my visits to my bank which is opposite carriage house in greenwich. 1 red f355 gts in milford Jay!.........say, does your dad run track events in a STi with CART?
Excellent, we'll have to meet up. I run with the CART guys, but we lost the autox lot this year, likely running at the old Plainfield Greyhound track lot....
I only see a handful of 355s a year, call it three or four. I probably see a 360 10-15 times a year, but it will happen any time I go up to NoVA or DC when the weather is nice. Around town there were a couple of 355s that moved away or were sold. I know there are a few here in town, but I never see them. The Ferrari I see here most often is a single mirror Testarossa.
Rarely see another 355 on the road. Lots of 360's and 430's here in RSF, but not too many older F cars driving around. Darrell.
From June 2005 to September 2006 (16 months), I saw seven in Denver, Colorado. From September 2006 until now (8 months), I've seen two in Atlanta, Georgia. Strangely, seven of the nine total were Spiders; I've only seen one GTS and one Berlinetta. Four of the nine were red. EDIT: for comparison's sake, during the same time period I saw 27 360s: sixteen in Atlanta and eleven in Denver. Of the 360s, fourteen were coupes and twelve were Spiders, plus one Challenge Stradale which is of course a coupe.
Interesting observation in this thread. Even here in the OC I dont see 355/348s very often. There are three in my area, including mine, but I never see them out. As stated above, 360s seem to be a more common site.
2 to 3 times a week. I drive mine to work on nice days and on the weekend all year long. Bought it to drive - not look at as I leave the house. I don't understand why there are not more driving them around. I have to say it puts a whole different spin on the day.
I saw one at Snowshoe WV almost 2 years ago. I have never seen one on the road elsewhere (except meets and FCA track days). Incidentally, that car was at an FCA event ("West VA High"), and seeing it started the ball rolling that got me into this mess!
I see them here in Las Vegas all the time. 360s are almost common. 355s less common. I have seen 2 Enzo's since last summer, 2 Bugatti's, and a ton of 348s. I have yet to see a 308GTB besides my own. Several GTS' around.
