    When it comes to trying to determine the `correctness' for various aspects of our Dino(s), how reliable are the photos in the Owners Manual as a reference? For example, here are some from my 1971 Euro GT owners manual (48/71);

    - valve covers are black
    - chassis # in white strip (rather than painted black)...subject of a recent thread
    - engine wall that holds Ferrari ID plate appears crinkle finish (or at least not smooth black)
    - label locations
    - toolkit should contain a spare alternator belt

    And I found an error in the manual...who do I report it to? ...;-)
    - page 88 shows a picture of the rear wheel well, but is labeled `front suspension'.

    yes, some errors, complicated by the fact judges use these during concours. my daytona manual states plier length at 180mm but all daytonas came w/ 190mm pliers. this is where documentation, such as magazine road test pictures are extremely helpful.

    Photo's were taken at the time the "Photo car" was CORRECT. We have seen many changes take place in the production line that the manuals became retro-ized to address.

    Ferrari never had certain year model changes. The key is to establish and document discrepancies appropriately.
