Look at the following 3 images. I will tell you the significance of them in my 4th post. These images are used by hypnotists apparantly to find out all sorts of things about you..

(I will post each image in a separate Post, so as to separate them)

The above pictures were designed to test how much stress you could handle. The slower the pictures appear to move, the better you are at handling stress.

Apparantly, kids see the shapes as static, whilst criminals see these shapes spinning round like crazy.

BTW. These pictures are static. they are not animated.

can you share the psycho/physio explanation of why that argument is made by these people?

it seems to be more a function of focus than anything else. if you focus hard on a point in the image, everything stops. when you move your eyes around, your brain (i assume) is processing the shaded edges to approximate motion.

i'm not buyin' the argument a priori.

    doody.

I really dont know the argument to be honest, I am not a psychiatrist. But these were sent to me by a registered practicing Psychiatrist/Hypnotist. I didnt bother to ask why our brains do this, I havent replied to her... But you may want to research similar patterns in psychology books/journals.

It is a known fact however that what we percieve (visually) tells us alot about our minds and how we think. Think of those symmetrical splatters psychiatrists use to analyze you.

Anyway I just thought it was something quite interesting to share!

In all seriousness, Cruise was/is 100% spot on about psycho stuff but tried to get his point across in the wrong forum, after what looks like a long night and to a mental lightweight.

But his points are valid, factual, and correct. But coming in the same period as his love inspired couch jumping didn't help much either. Sigmund Fraud was a joke who spawned an entire industry of the same.

As to the dots i had to fill my course requirements and took one of the perception courses that the psych guys had to take and that did have much interesting stuff to do with the cones and rods etc..... Same reason why running in front of my mastiff was never a good idea for anyone but me.

    VERY interesting!

I was with a Chiropractor about 2 or 3 months ago, and a friend sent him those via email. We looked at them together. At the time, I was feeling OK, no major or new stresses, just the usual I had been dealing with for a while.

2 to 3 Months ago - Low/ moderate stress level = Barely any movement

TODAY - Been real stressed the last few weeks = substantially more movement. Not spinning like mad or anything, but a serious increase from my first viewing.

I'm not sure how it works from an optical or neurological processing standpoint, but it is extremely interesting to see a change.

I must be stressed, I thought it was fun to focus left and right to make them move as quickly as possible ... :D
