Here is a quote from Sheehan in 2003: "The 512 BB at $65,000 and the Testarossa at $50,000 have failed the test of time as collectibles. While they are userfriendly and practical to use on a daily basis, and remain the highperformance bargains in the Ferrari world (selling for less than a 246 GT or GTS), no one seems to care." Well, he was a bit off on the Boxers, as those are going up. God, I hope he is wrong about the testarossa ... Funny, how just 3 years ago no one wanted a Boxer...
I think the internet and this site has helped many become aware of Boxers, they are so rare most people have never seen one and don't know what they are unless you are a die hard Ferrari enthusiest, also the demand for classic Ferraris has driven prices of 275s, Lussos and Daytonas way up so Boxers were next. Also typical of so called Ferrari experts that are wrong many times, TRs have about another 10 years before anything will happen to them concerning collectability IMO.
I agree. It is just a matter of time before the TRs are collectible. They made a huge impact and are icons of an 80s Ferrari (308s included). Many say they made too many but I don't think that will change their future collectibility. This especially applies to the well kept TRs.
What year did that poster with Farrah Fawcett posing with a TR come out? Add 20 years to that date. This is when TRs will be collectibles. Dale
