The solenoid works perfectly on my 360, but I'd like to get the cable release working as a backup should the need ever arise. When I pull on the cable in the rear of the engine compartment (under the LH side cover) the inner cable pulls a long way, telling me that it's either broken at the fuel door end, or slipped out or off its mounting point. Any tips on this? Oh, and it's a Spider if that makes any difference. Thank you in advance.

My guess is that you would have access to the cable latch if you remove the engine bay side panel. Should be easy to fix.

I've actually removed the engine bay covers and it doesn't allow any access. It DOES however allow access to the air-cleaner box and inlet area which is where the fuel filer would be. Can anyone else chime in with further information about this? Someone must have encountered this before me!

You remove the fender liner to gain access to the gas filler door latch.

Jack up the car & remove the rear wheel. Along with the visible screws in the wheel well there is a nut, on a stud, connected to the airbox intake tube, accessed by removing the Engine compartment side panel.

The release cable is attached to same mechanism as the solenoid. It's possible that the end of the cable popped out of the latch retainer or, worst case, is broken.
