    Hi all,
    I have the opportunity to purchase the emblem pictured. According to the seller, this was purchased by her husband in the late 1960s and is Ferrari factory. However, Ferrari items always make me nervous as I know there are many reproductions / fakes.

    What is the best way to determine an original vintage Ferrari badge from a fake? Should there be any numbers / markings to look for? Based on the photos, does anyone have any idea as to the specific year or model? Any opinion as to whether this is authentic? This measures approximately 4 3/8" from head to rear hoof.

    Also, if this is indeed a 1960s Ferrari badge, what is the current market value?

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    What you have to do is heat it to 90c and they quench it in Sicilian Olive oil. If it glows yellow it's real...

    @Wheels1 Great photos! Difficult to tell though since this piece (if real) is said to be late 1960s and the examples in the museum photos are early 60s.

    @Napolis Well played, sir :)

    Question is, what car might it have come off? 60s cars weren't covered in cavallinos like the modern cars; what model and location had such a big emblem? I don't have my reference books available at present to look for a likely candidate.
