July 4th I was trying to decide what to wear that was patriotic and I pulled a NART shirt out w the horsey & an American Flag (sort of) So in order to not look like these guys and since SO many people without a clue are wearing Ferrari wear if we wear NART or FCA, FOC or Fchat, Hubbell Racing shirts we wont look like Ferrari nerds Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe the defining characteristic of the Ferrari Nerd is not the shirts, but rather the red shoes and socks. No male should ever wear red shoes and socks
Wearing more than 1 item of clothing with the Ferrari emblem on it is being a Ferrrari nerd in my book. In fact, there is probably an inverse correlation between the number of clothing items worn with Ferrari emblems and the probability that the wearer actually owns a Ferrari. John
Isn't it kind of expensive to dress in full Ferrari combat gear? Ferrari clothes aren't cheap epecialy accessories like watches then adding water bottles and such, money better spent towards a real car or if you have one a cam belt change.
I disagree, to an extent... a tastefull ferrari-related ball-cap can be added to a polo/simple logo shirt without too much fanfare. i.e. I wear my active autowerks (a BMW tuner) hat (freebie from GatewayTech) with a chapter t-shirt or roundel-logo polo-shirt. both BMW items, but not both BMW-branded items. does that pass muster? also, color MUST MUST MUST MUST contrast. for Ferrari, red shirt, black hat, or somesuch.
I have a Ricambi America hat that I wear... I've gotten a couple smiles from people at the mall, so I must assume they're owners or at least are FChatters.
indeed... it seems you are less "that guy" if you wear items from firms related to teh marque... like sporting a RUF hat to go with your PCA shirt.
Rob, I think you are on to something. I don't think I own a single piece of Ferrari clothing, yet when I've struck up a conversation with someone wearing a Ferrari hat or jacket, it usually ends up that they don't have the car. On the other hand, the Ferrari wardrobe is a converstion starter. Regards, Art S.
I had to take a picture of that guy with his face painted red. I spotted him a couple times and snapped a pic right before the metro came. I knew it would be a classic Ferrari nerd shot
i am guilty of being a fan. i wear my silly clothes to the track on race day. i don't parade around in them elsewhere. i think a tasteful polo or cap at an event, like a car show or a marque get together, is appropriate. i rarely wear any badged apparel other than my red and black piloti driving shoes when i'm in the car, though. people shouldn't take themselves so seriously. relax and have fun. life's short.

You guys spend way too much time worrying what other people think. Life is far too short for me to give a rat's behind what others are concerned with. If you want to not be a Ferrari nerd...........don't pose with your car. Don't be so concerned with how low your milage is, or if the weather will be OK for your trip to Starbucks...........and learn to drive the car........and make sure that you track it. Then wear whatever the hell you want, and tell everyone else to piss off.
