I'm sorry, even if this work was done some time ago there is no excuse for leaving it this way today. It's 2018.

What's even funnier is the description says this car is, ".....for the perfectionist. The person who appreciates quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail."

Was this exact car really in Forza, or just an article about Boxers?

It doesn't look like it would take much to bring it back either. Wheels, dash, engine compartment.

The wheels and tires are childish as all hell, but as has been said, that's an easy fix.

Lots of cheesy carbon fibre wrap as well.

(I assume its wrap...otherwise somebody has wasted a load of money!)

    Good day All,

The link within the first post looks to be from Ebay and this is chassis 49311. This is/was a fellow fchatter's car and he documented the resto-mod on here:

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/512-bbi-resto.137758/

One has to remember that these mods were done over 10 years ago and at a time when Boxer's were simply older Ferraris... and were pretty much ignored. Consequently a lot of older boxers fell into disrepair and the economics and interest to restore the car to is original form was simply not there. So... to apply today's restoration norms and goals is simply unfair and unwarranted. That is not to say that one does not have an opinion on the work done, but it should really be in context to the time the mods were done.

    Cheers,

    Sam

Car looks fine. At least its well maintained. New owner could easily revert it to stock if he wanted to.

This is the car that was featured in FORZA. IMO, the money spent could have been directed toward a "perfect" original appearing Boxer with hidden upgrades and a performance increase. There are so many things that don't work aesthetically on this car it's sad.

Were the wheel well body work modified for the larger wheels?

Old wheels could not fit new brakes
Should have cast new 5 star wheels in original theme.
Everything else cool but wheels are not in good taste. Imo

I would only change the wheels to something that looked better and still worked with the new brakes. Otherwise, I have no problem with that kind of resto-mod work.

    Looks well executed.

Just to clean-up the aesthetics of the admittedly sloppy factory pieces.
