My 1982 GTSi was easy. The problem is Ferrari ran the hoses behind the X frame behind the gas tank so not to get in the way of installing the gas tank. When I replaced mine I drilled out the triangle in the gusset under the carpet. Removed front and rear inner fender panal. Pulled some hose up through the hole behind the triangle and cut it in half. Pulled the new hose from the triangle via the old hose starting up front just duct taped the ends as there was no stress and wide open. Pulled enough into the drivers compartment to make the next run to the engine. Removed the back section of the old hose. Then from the rear wheel well I reached over the top of the gas tank and dropped a string yes string down to the triangle and tie the end of the hose and pulled enough up the back of the tank to grab it and easily pull the hose over the tank and attach to the engine. It actually took longer to remove the all the panels then it did to replace the hose. Like I said the problem occurs when you try to replace the hose by pulling it behind the X brace. Just my personal experience. Hope it helps others. Wayne...

I've been staring at the pics earlier in the thread and finally have to ask, it's 5/8" ID, what brand did you use and what length did you buy? Online Gates catalog on shows green stripe in lengths of 3 feet, obviously way too short.
    appreciate the help

I used gates green strip 5/8 heater hose. Purchased a 50' roll and sold the balance. Also used it for the hose from the heater manifold to the main pipe under the battery.

^^^ yes. I also changed my AC lines on the passenger side. Had both fuel tanks out at the time. Duct Taped a small nylon rope to the end of the old existing hose and pulled it through as I removed the old hose. I took a rag and wiped the outside of the new hose with Dawn dish soap, this made the job very easy and slid right through with no problems. Would not attempt this without very least loosening the fuel tanks and pulling them out of the way a bit

'79 308 GTS. I just removed the engine hatch release from the door jam. The old hose is right there. Pulled some slack and cut the old hose there and attached the new hose to it. Pulled the new hose to the rear and front from there.
