How to clone a black remote fob ....

It cost something like $500 to get the PIN. The problem is that there is no guarantee that it will be correct and/or work. Yes, this is the voice of experience.

Not really. I got the answer back in about 2 weeks. BUT in my case the code didn't work so it is really a crap shoot.

 

hey gobble not sure if you remember me. I had sent you my original black fob that you used asa template to clone of a red fob doesn't seem to work anymore. is this normal? i'm guessing maybe it lost memory because i use the red one all the time?

 

Just press the button until you catch the right spot in the rolling code. It will work.

New Ferrari 360 Spider owner, failed totally to comply with paragraph 1 of 360 buyers guide...So, I have no PIN Code, 1 key & 1 working keyfob.

Also newly registered on Ferrarichat, and can't for the life of me work out how to PM.

I need to get the contact details for Eric355, as he would appear to be my best bet for getting the fobs cloned. Any clues on how to do this...?

Welcome to Ferrari ownership. Don't worry, it isn't so bad. That is how I got my car and it was 7 years ago; all is still good.

 

If you order the new set of remotes from the dealer and you have your PIN, can the old black fob piggy back on the new set, or is it useless? What is the success rate when ordering new remote sets from the dealer? Sounds like there is still some issues with the car accepting the new remote sets from the looks of the posts here, is that correct?

 

The fob could be cloned to match but is useless in it's current state. Read Taz's document that is posted in post 331. That describes the system accurately. All of the rest is just internet chatter with little/no real actual information.

As for efficacy of ordering new fobs. That is pretty easy but you must have the PIN in order to program the. The probability of getting the correct PIN from the dealer is less predictable.

 

Aiden- Here is the latest version. May be the same, may not. Lose track after a while. Very early versions had mistakes and we learned as we progressed.

Thanks guys. My battery went low on the remote last week, and I started to think if I did encounter a problem with the only remote I'd be kind of screwed. I'd rather get a set and have peace of mind.

 

It sounds to me you'd be way better off just having a few more cloned

 

Is there anyone in the UK who can clone remotes? I'm a bit wary of sending my only working remote overseas.

 

Not that we're aware of : Eric355 in France works fine

That's me. I only have 3 black fobs and one cracked red one left. I've mostly given up on trying to find more because everyone's looking for $200+ for just the fob.

 

Just to close off my situation...

I got hold of a couple of fobs (1 from ebay, 1 from Eric himself) and sent them off to Eric355 in France by secure Carrier, along with my single working fob. Bit of a fraught period while the fobs were in transit, but eventually received 3 working fobs back

Also got a couple of spare keys cut at my local locksmith.

So sitting much happier with 3 working fobs & 3 working keys...phew Many thanks for all the advice, and thanks to Eric for the stress free cloning.

I just had a fob cloned in the UK, the company is Berlinetta Cars | Ferrari Maserati Lamborgini

I had to supply my own spare fob but aside from that, it was perfect.

Just to make this all easier for everyone, both a fellow owner and myself have used Mark who goes by " Gobble" (see 5/27/ post) in Milwaukee to clone key fobs over the past three weeks. He has a one or two day turnaround time and both fobs worked on the first click!!
They were for a 360 and a late 575 SA . No need to send to Eric in France and wring your hands for a couple weeks! Just send them over locally to Milwaukee and start your car with the new fobs later in the same week. Just brilliant!
I also had a Ferrari key blank successfully cut by a local locksmith this week from a Ricambi blank. As a possible tip,he said they were identical to a "Vespa" blank if anyone wants to have a cheap spare key......
All the more satisfying as Ferrari says both of these things are impossible.. Literally saved over $2800.00 dealer dollars between these two impossible accomplishments!
