How to color inserts on solid black Daytona seats??

My 360 has solid black Daytona seats. I would like the inserts yellow to match the car or silver to match the silver trim inside the car. Any suggestions on how to color the inserts? I have an interior guy that said he could tape them and dye them with leather dye. Just not sure if the finished product will look as good as factory. Has anyone ever attempted this? If so could you provide some pictures of the finished product. Thanks!!
