    Is the idiot buzzer for the key in the ignition on its own fuse or breaker in a 97 355? Is there a simple lead to unplg to kill it? Mine is so loud it makes my teeth hurt. The OM has a cryptic entry like "circuits energized bythe ignition key" for one of the breakers, but that could include my heart!

    Help?

    the box is black, about 3 inches by 2 inches, and is bolted directly under the steering column with one 6mm bolt and I dont know if anything bad will happen if you unplug it

    Hope it's not part of the "theft/get owners to spend a thousand dollars for a new remote control" systems of the car!!!

    I installed a small toggle switch interrupting the power supply to it five years ago.

    I can turn it off when I am working and need the key on

    I simply opened mine up, snipped a wire going to the tiny speaker inside, and voila! silence ever since. This was the first "mod" I did to my car over a year ago when I bought it, and no ill effects (idiot lights, alarm malfunction, etc). Car otherwise is as it was, just no longer irritating and embarrassing when you show it to friends. Do it, you won't regret it!

    maybe 348s are different, but I did find this box where you said, unplugged the leads and still the blasted buzzer was sounding with the key in. This was not it.
