A friend told me I could disconnect vacuum lines to increase the sound on my 430 F1. Would this jeopardize my warrantee or hurt the engine?

no, this doesn't void your warranty.

There will not be an increase in maximum exhaust volume if the vacuum lines are disconnected (valves then remain open). The only difference is an increase in low rpm volume, since the system would normally close the valves, routing exhaust gases through the muffler. When the valves are open (whether the system opens them under load/rpm or if the vacuum lines are disconnected), exhaust gases bypass the muffler.

With regards to the warranty, check with your dealer. Two I spoke to said, technically, it will affect the warranty. Ferrari doesn't want the valves disconnected.

Do yourself a favor, and buy a nice aftermarket exhaust such as a Larini or ASI, couple it with a highflow converter set such as the GT PRO one's or Hyperflow you will never look back.
