How to install OEM fire extinguisher in 575?

    I am trying to figure out what parts I need to install the Ferrari OEM fire extinguisher in the passenger footwell.

    I believe there are three key parts: 1) the bottle itself, part # 65644700; 2) the brackets, part # 65653600; and 3) "unknown" part that attaches directly to the floorboard.

    Has anyone here performed the installation and can confirm the necessary parts?

    Are there any reasons to avoid installing a non-original fire extinguisher from a mechanical standpoint? It sounds like my dealer has not done this before and had some concerns over drilling into aluminum, as in, it may not hold fast over the long term.

    Thanks, I'm installing for safety's sake as I had a bad fire experience in a previous car, but also want to be practical.

    I guess you could make a call to the Service Dept. and talk with someone there. (I was curious myself)

    Roie- You also need a matching leather cover for the extinguisher and the floor mats were different as well if you want the factory look. When I get mine back from the shop, I can take photos for you if you like.

    I also have the black leather sleeve, (#65644800) that fits over the extinguisher which I neglected to mention in my other post.

    Thanks, Terry, I'd like to take a look at those pix once yours is back from having its "procedure" done. Are you getting the OEM floormat or just cutting the old one and rebinding it?

    Mine is having its 30K major svc right now and I'm also having front spoiler, back diffuser repainted body color (after which I will be even more careful than previously in underground parking garages). Will post photos when I can.

    Robie- Mine was originaly fitted with a fire extinguisher by the factory. Both my front and rear bumpers have been repainted.
