(note: I realise this is fairly off topic, but it seems most here like top gear)

And the way top make it bad:

    Put some Americans on it...

Don't be too harsh...it might be sensational.

a real race track instead of an air field sounds good already.

unlikely to be as funny, though.

To me, the humour is what sets TG apart from other shows (like Fifth Gear).

JC to me is a complete prick, but damn he's fun to listen to. It's the entertainment that makes the show good, and I just think without the dynamic of the current hosts, the US version will be either TG meets ToolTime, or it will be as dry as Fifth gear.

Will not succeed because they will not be able to polarize as Top Gear does (not without being pulled off the air). JC can bash on Hammond and May in a way that would normally bring people to fists, and they are all politically incorrect....try doing that on American TV.

What they need is an angle. Once they get a good one, then they can pull in some viewers...and hopefully we can get it on Speed.

Its very sad they redid TopGear at the start of the year with a USA friendly version. Discovery should of shown the show in all its American car bashing glory.... ohh well. Good to see they like the stig :)

top gear started without an audience too.

still, Jeremy, James and Mark make the show what it is. Its going to be hard to make another "top gear" as such, without them!

and the americans making their own show... well thats just bloody arrogant!

sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me, but i like the idea of a proper track, just not the idea of americans

Don't forget, Americans pay to watch disasters.
