Can you guys make some suggestions or post pics? Do you just buy something that screws into the tow bar hole and hold the plate? In VA we have to have a front plate.

    Hi Jason,

I solved this same issue by getting a holder from Formula Dynamics.
It comes with a long bolt that goes into the tow hook hole.
    Excellent design and not expensive.

I have the factory kit but I cant tell you how it works since it is still in the box after 6 years. It's insurance in case I get busted by CHP.

I like the one that attaches to the grill because it would be centered rather than the one that uses the tow hitch. Home it doesn't put too much stress on the grill.

I just realized that one was $200 and it looks like it might block the cavallino if I center it.

It was kind of funny as I clicked through their website by selecting make and model; I arrive at their front plate mounting solution and they have this sentence in the description...
"it has been designed so as not to affect air flow into the radiator vents". I understand that this is probably a stock description and it fits other cars but it was just peculiar in terms of a 348.

Yes, lol some of their descriptions/photos are a bit of one size fits all for sure.
However, once you call them, they'll send you the proper frame that fits perfectly.

I have the Formula Dynamics tow eye mount and I hate it. The plastic portion that the plate mounts on cracks/breaks easily and flexes under speed, allowing it to rub against the front bumper. I backed mine with foam rubber tape to protect the paint, but it's much more cheaply made than I expected. It also is difficult to get it screwed in and keep the plate straight each time. Once you have the tow eye bolt twisted in, you pretty much always have to loosen and retighten the screw holding the plate mount to it, otherwise it's on at a wonked angle. Not as convenient as I had hoped. I'm going to jump to the center mount from fabspeed. It's more expensive, but my friend has one on his 360 and it's solid. And no, it doesn't block the cav (one of the reasons I got the FD one), it sits low enough that it's well-below it.

Good advice thanks. The backing plate looked like it was metal not plastic on the FD so good to know.

Hi, the backing plate on FD is plastic.
I think it works well overall for the cost of $65, but
glad to see that we at least have options to choose.
