    Hi,

Asking for a friend in California. How does he order the COA? Is it through Porsche or one of the clubs?

    Thanks,

    Sixcarbs

I thought they stopped doing a CoA...as we know it. AFAIK, it doesn't list the engine and tranny serial #s now.

They renamed it, but I just got one and it looked the same. I'll have to look at it when I get back to CA.

It is renamed, and Porsche will list the engine & trans numbers if the ones that you provide are correct. If they are not correct they no longer provide the correct numbers.

Why would they stop providing engine and transaxle numbers?

Simple. Unscrupulous people were ordering the COA just to get the correct numbers from Porsche ~ so that the unscrupulous could then re-stamp their replacement engines with the data provided by Porsche ~ and now show their car as "numbers matching." It gets no simpler than that.

So... Porsche now will only confirm if your numbers are correct. Proving that there is always some A.H. ruining it for the rest.
