How to pronounce Scuderia in the 430 Scuderia name

    Dear members, yesterday I had a friendly conversation with a fellow Ferrari enthousiast. Our conversation went on perfectly until we stumbled upon the pronounciation of the 430 Scuderia name. We both thought we we're right (of course ;) ). If you could choose between the two following ways to pronounce the Scuderia name which would you choose:

    1 - Skuderiaa
    2 - Skuuuderia

    The first shows a longer aaaa in your mouth :p where as the second one gives more emphasis on the "u"-sound.

    I want to apologise for my English since I'm a Dutchie and not a native Brit or American :)

    Whoa that's a fast reply! After listening to the audio sample there is even a third option which puts both options in the grinder :)

    Didn't lisen to the video but I believe the correct way is "Scoo-der-ree-ah"

    Imagine the replies on an Italian language forum when somebody asks (in Italiano, of course) "How do you pronounce New Orleans?".

    new oar leans?
    new oar lee anns?
    or should one pronounce it as the locals do: naw lins?

    :D

    I expect you would hear a different pronunciation of scuderia in different parts of Italy. Who's to say which is correct?

    I always vote with Jeremy Clarkson. ;)

    I hear Te same pronounciation from my dealer. I believe they pronounce it that way too when they discuss the teams on the F1 commentary. We'll see in anoter week.

    It would be incredibly bad form for Clarkson or any of the announcers to mispronounce it.

    Scooo - der - reee - ah is right. Rolls off the tongue quite nice....

    Correct - if you are pronouncing it in Italian (native tongue) - English (as in England) pronounce it various ways (but they also do so re: schedule, etc., versus American English, so....)
