How to rebuild a 348 Delco Alternator ??

    I wanted to know if anyone has instructions or has rebuilt the Delco Alternator
    for an early (1991) 348 ??

    If so, what parts and where can I get them.

    Were you able to uprade it to 140 Amps ?? if not how much

    Just take it to any competent auto electric shop and they can do it for a couple hundred bucks or so...

    Sorry to cop out on ya...but there was definitely some threads on rebuilding the Delco here...though there are more for the Nippondenso. You will need to try the search function in the upper left corner. I even recall someone getting the output raised to around 130 or 140 too. It can be done. Good luck.

    Here is the thread on the guy who got his Delco modded to 140 amps. Contact him, he can tell you where he sent it...although you may be able to find a local repair shop that can do the same:
