I have been trying to figure out how to remove the plastic trim in order to clean it and re-paint it. There are no screws, snaps or anything I can access. Any ideas as to how to proceed? Thank you for your input.

Hood trim on the front compartment lid? If so there's a thread or two on this. Involves removing a metal cover underneath that's rivited on. Need to drill out the rivits first. Early cars have three rivits and the later have 5.

Too late to edit my post. :(

Early cars have three fasteners and the later have 5.

So if you're buying a replacement, get the later one. Five fasteners will help reduce the warpage.

Wow! I didn't know there were so many rivets. How do you remove the old rivet bodies after drilling. Thanks for your help.

You can't really stop the rivet bodies from falling inside the hood, but as I had it off for painting, with a friends help, we managed to shake it around until they fell out of the various holes and gaps on the underside of the hood. Hinge holes for instance. I think most came out. There will be a few of 348s driving round with them in Im sure.
