Use a small pick to remove the square plastic covers and you will find the fasteners underneath. I believe they are female hex but I don't recall the size.

How do you remove the 4 AC vents? I know there are several tabs on the back but can't find anything in the stickies telling me where they are or how to best access them. Can you help me James?

Pocket screwdriver at the inside/top of vent to carefully pry down tabs. I pull on the vent by hand while I'm doing this. When the tab releases the vent will tilt out of the dash from the top and pull out.

Try to avoid prying on the edges if possible so you don't damage the vent or dash leather.

Removing the two screws on the gauge cluster housing and shifting it over slightly will give you additional room to remove the corner dash vent next to it.

Take a look at this thread and in particular post #7which shows the location of the locking tabs. The center vent has two tabs which must be depressed as shown. If you just attempt to pry them out you may break off a tab. If this happens, it can be epoxied back on.
