will tackle my hood lining in next week or 2 any input is welcome ............cheers
Here's what I did: First, I covered my engine bay with a cheap tarp. (Tarp was under $3.00 from Harbor Freight Tools.) A cheap tarp is important, as you may end up throwing it away, as the engine lid foam falling on it may be decayed to the point it is "greasy" and you won't be able to get it all off of the tarp. Next I used a scraper blade (again from Harbor Freight) to scrape off as much of the foam as possible. The scraper blade is much like a regular paint scraper, but is a little sharper. I think the scraper was a few bucks. After I got as much foam off with the scraper I used a wire brush (again from Harbor Freight) attached to a drill to remove the remaining foam. The brush to use is a "cup", not a "wheel" type. Finally, I used paint thinner and several rags to clean off anything remaining. Overall, the job is incredibly messy and is a major pain in the ... back. (From leaning over the "trunk" to reach the front of the engine lid.) It doesn't take long, it's just not terribly fun. I took before and after photos. One of these days I'll get around to posting them. --Jeremy
in oz hood is roof. it looks like a big job it appears the liner is one piece probably hard foam. looks like rear side windows will need to come away. i'd pull the seats too along with the rear view mirror. there are some excellent threads on redoing the rear shelf that will help. you may as well do that while your in there. i'd say start with removing the sunvisors and the side hanger hooks. the screws holding them may be all that's holding the panel. i have no idea how to remove the overhead light panel. take care removing that panel. i doubt if you'd be able to replace it. once you get the panel out it should be rather straight forward removing and reinstalling the material.i'd imagine a good spray fabric adhesive will do the trick.do a broad search for interior redos. there are some good threads but i think most are for gts. the material is hard to find. last i heard superformance in uk may have some. again do a search. i remember a few threads where someone found matching material at a fabric store. i guess i've stated the obvious here but remember the search is your friend. please try to photo document your work as there is little to no information for this procedure especially on removing the overhead light panel. good on ya mate. perserverance furthers.
used the searh engine .... it's only runnin on 2 cylinders ......... it's a pile of crap .......cheers anyway guys
