Some are glued on and some have pins with retaining clips on the backside.

    1. If yours are glued, fishing line or maybe dental floss run along the backside will cut the adhesive holding it on. It does help to heat the area or have the car warm in the sun.

    2. If you have pins then you will have to go in from the wheel well and remove the retaining clips from the backside. This is better than just prying at the emblem as you can damage the paint or dent the body.

I don't know how to visually tell which emblem you have but #1 should tell you. No intereference - no pins

    Good luck with the project.

Please allow me to expand upon Rob's suggestions.

    1) If factory installed, they will all have pins with press-on clip washers on the back. None will be taped on (unless done so by a previous owner).

    2) You cannot remove the press-on clip washers from the insignia without removing the fuel tank.

    3) Better to attempt to run a long razor blade (from an box cutter) behind the insignia and cut the studs - they are plastic. If you can accomplish this, you can remove the insginia and push the plastic studs and their press-on clip into the engine area. They will fall to the bottom of the fuel tank area, never to be heard from again.

    4) When ready to reinstall the insignia, use a thin double-sided tape. Forget the studs.

You may find it easier simply to destroy the old insignia and install a new one. Place a playing card or thin piece of cardboard behind the insignia and use a wire cutter or other sharp tool to cut the plate in half, Then work on prying the halves away from the car and work your way towards the stud. The studs are soft, either plastic or pot metal.
