The GTO Evoluzione from Looksmart has arrived and I'm pretty pleased with it, but the wheels are a bit underwelming and I would like to lower it as well.

In order to do this I have to take the model off its base. However, the bottom of the base shows no exposed screws, they seem to be hidden. Does anyone know how to remove the model? Thanks.

If you have time to wait Peter, next week I am getting mine.
I want to do the same as you and put some other wheels under the model.

    Hi John,

I'm in no hurry :) I think you'll be pleased overall with the model. The paint to me looks really good as well as the overall shape. I bought the version with the standard wheels. They look better than in the pictures online but still... I also saw the version with the added winglets and more modern wheels. Those wheels look horrible and toy like.

    Hey Peter,

Yesterday I received my copy of the 288 GTO Evo and I must say, it's a beautiful model.
Except for the wheels, but we can change that.

The base is composed of three layers.
To remove the model from the base you have to remove the lowest layer.
This one is glued to the central layer.
But watch out, this layer is made of cardboard, it breaks easily.
Best is to use a large and sharp butchers knife to cut through the glue.
    The rest is simple. ;)
